The fact is Bryan is already insanely over, he's isn't going to come out of this any hotter going against Randy Orton, Orton putting him over won't make him get a bigger pop, Randy Isn't going to carry the company and the belt any better than Daniel would with out Cena. Maybe if Bryan was feuding with Punk or Taker a guy who can legitimately carry the company. The ending tonight proved everything I'm saying, that beatdown doesn't do anything as far as getting Bryan over.
what would bryan have done if randy hadn't cashed in? where would he go from there? meaningless babyface "oh i'm so happy to be champion and represent the wwe universe blahblahblah" promos and facing inconsequential opponents most likely. there's a story being told here: daniel bryan deserves to be champion and he has had that stolen from him by the very company he works for. bryan's been put into a position where he is now the protagonist in the central feud of the WWE. with cena gone: bryan and punk are legitimately the top two faces in the company. both of them have what seem like insurmountable odds to overcome and part of making the audience want to see a victory is to have the faces get dominated for a while.
i'm 100% satisfied with how this has been booked. the orton coronation on raw was fantastic. all the other wrestlers on the roster are too pussy to help bryan and the two people who have already spoken out against what happened at summerslam got taken out by HHH's personal KGB: The Shield. HHH is playing the corporate heel to perfection while randy orton plays a brilliant undeserving champion. he literally didn't do anything to win the title, HHH handed
it to him. with the shield and stephanie and vince (and almost certainly a few other people) stood in his way, the audience will be clamouring to see bryan finally get his hands on orton and HHH and when he does the pop will be tremendous.
remember there was a lot of powerplay from vince mcmahon before austin hit the stunner on him for the first time. dusty rhodes had his ass handed to him by the four horsemen week after week before he finally got some elbows in. this is STORYTELLING 101.
