This is Valve, not Gearbox...

Interestingly, I took a gander at their wikipedia page, and there's a sequel listed for Duke Nukem

No, a sequel to Forever. They've stated this a while ago.

No, they're actually making a full sequel to Duke Nukem.

As for the quality of DNF I can give Gearbox the benefit of the doubt because from what I've heard they just hired another developer to put together all of what 3D Realms had completed and released it as is so they could start working on the next Duke Nukem. DNFs problem was it was a product from a different era with a modern skin and the humor of Duke Nukem doesn't fit into this era very well. For the next game Gearbos has to work on it, because they suck when they outsource.

Yet they royally fucked up Aliens: Colonial Marines as well... Like, blatantly lying about the actual product. And I'm pretty sure it was Gearbox self that worked on that.

Gearbox still holds a warm place in my heart for Brothers in Arms, which I absolutely loved, but their track record is really starting to stink.

They did Brothers in Arms? All I knew was Aliens, Duke Nukem and Borderlands.

They also outsourced A:CM. Sega announced the game before it had even hit production. The full problem was that Gearbox kept getting extensions to work on something else. Then they'd have to restart on A:CM, but they'd wind up changing things. They came up with a plan for Timegate to do the campaign, GBX was to handle mp and Demiurge would handle networking, mapmaking, DLC and other intensive specialties. When Gearbox was done with BL2 they were trying to put together all the pieces together and the campaign was only 80% done, the boss fights weren't even implemented, the PS3 build was way over memory allocation, maps had to be rebuilt from scratch, last minute features were shoved in. Gearbox pretty much did all it could to make sure the thing made it through certification. The worst casualty was the story because it wasn't even in decent position before it went into beta. Gearbox needs to stop stretching itself so thin is the lesson to be learned. Since Borderlands 1 they've released 6 games and they still have Furious 4 and the Homeworld updates.

Times are a-changing.
As I saw the creature, I was as white as an egg. I was so scared I might crack from fear. As the humanoid began to lunge after me, I was walking on egg shells from how scared I was. It grabbed me, took me to its station, and cracked me open. The last thing I saw were my yellow insides cooked on a pan. Human nature is as evil as a rotten egg.

Here we see the Stuffaluffagus. Mysterious creature that pops out of the bushes once in a while and grunts at other nearby creatures, only to vanish into the wild again.
Little is known of Stuffaluffagus, but scientists have concluded that all it's appearances are monotonous.

"I choose you, Stuffalufagus!"
"She used Seduce!"
"It's not very effective!"
