But for that new lead they'd probably be a descendent of Eve as Desmond was a descendent of Adam.

That would be interesting, it'll be better than tying Desmond's ancestors to EVERY moment in history.

i'd wish somebody did replicas of the hidden blades that worked and didn't cost half a testicle augmentation.
not for killing people. just like, stabbing things. and self defense.

That would be cool, though I suppose legality would vary from place to place.

Also, making a trigger and release system good enough to work at the right time but not accidentally stab your things.

I want one anyway, of course.

Yeah Neo, the mechanism would make it illegal in most countries because it'd be classified as a stiletto style switchblade.

Ya, they'd basically follow the laws for switchblades and the like, but it would be quite bad ass to have one.

Whatis ninja'd me

I can't imagine them being quite that useful. Stabbing with them is risky because it leaves your hand in a weird position and it provides no advantage for slashing.

Here in mexico, mind you, no one would give a fuck.

And the point is stabbing in a place where it's not necessary to slash or do any additional damage. Theoretically anyway. I'd imagine a quick series of thrusts would be potentially lethal and not as messy as if you stabbed someone and left your hand in there dramatically like Ezio Audimotherfuckingtore

The problem with the hidden blade is that no knife is designed to retract automatically.

Worst case, I guess you'd just need to retract it manually. I presume a system can be designed, though.
I'm really not up to date on US knife laws though. Stiletto's banned?

Wouldn't having to manually retract the blade defeat some of the purpose? Also the mechanism to automatically extend and retract the knife would be cumbersome and it would be a game of hoping there's enough pressure to release and extend the blade far enough that it can build enough pressure for the retracting springs to do their job and then hoping the retracting can create enough force to pull the blade back in and reset the extension spring.

In almost all states they're banned as are switchblades, some states even ban gravity and butterfly knives.

"Ubisoft boss Yves Guillemot has teased that the next [Assassin's Creed] game would feature an all new hero and would take place in a different time period… Now some news has come to light via a reddit discussion, indicating that the next installment of Assassin’s Creed has been given the name “Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flags”, has a logo, and that it may have a seafaring theme." And now I can't get the image of a Captain Jack Sparrow like main character running around in the next Assassin's Creed.

There's already plenty of working hidden blades ala AC out there

This one's my favorite:

I didn't even think of a ratchet mechanism. The problem is to scale the blade from plastic to actual metal would probably require a much heavier version probably with the whole thing made out of metal and much heavier bungee cords or springs instead of a rubber band. Especially if you want to do the put your hand on the target stab and retract.
