Things like the subway, el and regional rail, all of them are third rail based electric trains but I have a hard time considering them to be actual trains.

And I'll usually ride the caltrain to San Francisco when going to a Giant's game, since the station is just a couple blocks from the Stadium. They even have a special train for people that are going to the game that runs once or twice that skips stops to get there faster. Easier and safer than trying to find a place to park close by.

I don't, I consider a train to be something that you can travel through multiple states on.

Yeah most major cities with a athletic arena and subway/el/rail service have express trains to get from points far out to the arena. Philly's stadiums and arena are at the far end of the subway route so the express last stop before the stadium is city hall 4 miles away.

Yeah, I never get sleepy on mass transit. It might just be that in Philly you should always be paranoid of your fellow riders.
