Maybe something along the lines of "Whatever Discussion" in contrast to "Snafu General Discussion" because Spam is very general with its discussions, but much moreso than Snafu.

As it stands, 'Spam' already defines the attitudes we show and the amount of vulgarity we happen to spare to people who wander in here. It's a name of history and tells people about how awesome and sordid this place is. I mean, I've only been inside this place for a couple of months, and the despair is already sinking in.

I just saw 'Grey's Sodding Party Lorry'.
Nevermind.

Snark aside: I genuinely think changing the name of the forum would be a low effort and easy change but go a long way to making this place more approachable. I'm not even telling you to change the style of your posting, but you have to admit that more often than not, people not familiar with the forum are going to avoid a section called "Spam".

The name isn't something you really have to stick up for.

And that's why I came in here to suggest more names than there is now even if they're not taking any more; while I support some of the names on here, I think it's best we also try not to make the place sound ridiculous and silly even if we're kind of like that sometimes, which is okay on the other hand.

I see that not everybody is taking the gold member's effort to make positive changes here seriously.

Personally, I would've advocated Poland as the name for the new forum.

Also, fuck Off Topic.

I have no idea
"Suddenly Frodo noticed that a strange-looking weather-beaten man, sitting in the shadows near the wall, was also listening intently to the hobbit-talk. He had a tall tankard in front of him, and was smoking a long-stemmed pipe curiously carved. His legs were stretched out before him, showing high boots of supple leather that fitted him well, but had seen much wear and were now caked with mud. A travel-stained cloak of heavy dark-green cloth was drawn close about him, and in spite of the heat of the room he wore a hood that overshadowed his face; but the gleam of his eyes could be seen as he watched the hobbits."

Snafu's Basement seems to be in second place right now.

it's tied for second place. (apparently the "BR" option is that it's BR's choice)

I'm surprised it's so popular

anyone who has put a point in my name is implicitly giving me permission to exploit their vote and use the sizable percentage of its voting power to override the current majority of people just wanting to keep the name spam. I'm telling you that right now.

But I am with Q.U. as he and I have both stated. I would like to have a stickied thread in spam that is a weekly/monthly/however-long-th-ly contest of variable rules decided upon perhaps by gold card members in each instance of the contest taking place, and that contest's winner decides the Forum's Title for however long until the next contest.

Cut it down to 5 choices every month and give it a try.
And don't allow people to use a person's name on it.

I guess with that idea, the reservations I have about it is people running out of ideas? I'm sure that BR could come up with a LOT of ideas but I don't think even he would have an infinite amount.

There is a reason most forums don't make their decisions by democratic vote. People would rather joke around than seriously consider how a thing affects the forum as a whole.

But hey, if you honestly think Spam is some really cool name that totally represents who you are, man, then more power to you, I guess.

Guys, hasn't the internet taught you anything about memes? They get reused constantly.

Add a list to the OP so we know how many times one has been used?
