Do you?

He had a tall tankard in front of him, and was smoking a long-stemmed pipe curiously carved. His legs were stretched out before him, showing high boots of supple leather that fitted him well, but had seen much wear and were now caked with mud. A travel-stained cloak of heavy dark-green cloth was drawn close about him, and in spite of the heat of the room he wore a hood that overshadowed his face; but the gleam of his eyes could be seen as he watched the hobbits."

I usually do because I keep my cereal in my room to pour it in afterwards. Otherwise others eat it... I paid for it, it's mine.

Why wouldn't you pour milk first?

Put cereal into the bowl. Add milk. Cereal begins to float. Spills out of the bowl. Messy.
And I'm not going to be planning on how much cereal will fit with how much milk. It's needless effort.

I pour the milk in first, as much as I want. Then I add cereal, and often add more later once it turns out I would like more and I still have milk left over.

If you explain to me the logical reason for putting cereal first and why it is a superior way to mine, other than "This is how I've always been doing it so it seems right", then I will reconsider my method.

Because so far, to me, my order of operations seems more reliable and logistically easier.

It never overflows for me. I just fill the bowl with cereal, add milk. If you pour evenly over the surface, the cereal sinks into the milk.

Q.U.'s got this all figured out. It's why I still do it that way. Also, it keeps your cereal crunchy a touch bit longer.

Would you rather have cereal with your milk, or milk with your cereal

Tour bringing in self-discovery questions. Cereal with milk; because when I think cereal, I think of a bowl with milk; when I think of milk, I think a jug or a glass of it.
Why not?

So you want more milk than cereal

I'd prefer pancakes, but I'm too lazy to make them every day.

Sorry, do you literally mean that you pour pop/orange juice with the cereal?

I think that's what he's saying since he said "instead of milk".
If so, that's... that's just odd.
