It isn't comfortable to read in large bodies of text, due to its poor kerning.
And its a poor choice for branding/design, because its way too noticeable. Good typography shouldn't be that noticeable. Imagine it like a goblet, where a good use of typography would be a crystal clear goblet, allowing you to see the contents perfectly, Comic Sans would be a golden, jewel covered goblet, completely pulling your attention away from its contents.
Good typography should be invisible, unless there's a specific reason you want to draw attention to the font used.
Comic Sans undoing is its own popularity. Its too recognizable.
