Don't act like that's cool and rebellious, the only reason those people are your favorites is because good characters tend to be so boring. That's why they often get spiced up with anti-hero stuff now, like with Batman. Otherwise, you're just Superman, and that's not nearly as exciting as Batman. What you said would apply for most everyone.
Most good characters to avoid blandness now either: are deeply conflicted brooders, or, they are repeatedly made to suffer. You'll find one or the other for most good fictional characters now. Evil characters get to do all the interesting stuff, because they have no limits.
I mean, if most of your 20 were actually good role models, I'd question your taste, because it'd have to be pretty horrible to select that many, because there aren't
