It doesn't hurt to change a username up a bit. Of course an older name is going to stick with everyone more often. You'll still be that one name everyone knew you as. It's comfortable. It's what they're used to calling you.

Looking back at my last comment, those things could be considered just things to work off of. But Q.U. is right. Something you feel comfortable with and you can relate to is something a name should be. Otherwise it won't feel right (Like Riz just mentioned). The name you're thinking over is a bit too much, Soul. Sounds more like you're giving yourself a title than a name.
