If it's still really big (which, although the forum can resize, still can end up lagging people), you can use Pixlr.com to edit the photo to resize it, save it with the new size and then upload it and all.
To resize an image on Pixlr (and in most editing programs), just click on "Image" and then "Image Size" and adjust the measurements to make it smaller.
