My first question is, WHY THE FUCK WHEN I PLAY A TEST GAME RUNS SLOW IN SOME PARTS????

you have to make sprites your self mostly if you got a newer one but you can find lots of sprites if you google it. I still don't know how to do a treasure chest on the computer one. The play test runs slightly different from the final product indeed. not sure why you would have to ask that ones who made the game.

Wait, make a chest as in draw it or make a chest as in make it work? Because I'm unfamiliar with RPG Maker 3000, but if it's like RPG Maker 2000 I can help a little.

Choose where do you want to put the event,
Choose that shitty sprite of the closed chest...
in the event commands choose as first action a move event for the chest (inside the menu of move event there's a panel where says "hero" "boat" "this event", etc, choose "this event")
Then move right, then up, then left in consecutive order...

What you get is that when the char. (that's you) press the action button, the chest opens, but its bored to just see a chest being opened, lets add details...

in the event commands, now place a sound event, play the open 1 from the list, the third command will be a message when you say something like "yay, i got X item!", then the fourth and last one would be an item management module, so that you get an item...

but there's a problem...

yeah. i got most of that. its the makeing it only give you the item once thing. I could make an entire switch for it but that seems stupid and a waste of space cause hte playstation ones always have a makea treasure chest button;

Ah. Well, if I remember right you just have to use scripts to make the chest object rotate when you talk to it (make sure it doesn;t change direction in the object pages, else the animation'll look stupid). It should be 'turn' using the 'move object - this object' script to make it fully open if you use an animated one, then you just set a switch so that it stays open and make a new page with the 'open chest #XXX' on and the picture is the open chest. If you're using an open/close sprite, just have it turn until it's at the correct frame instead of turning a lot. Depending on the chest sprite you use, the directions you turn may be different, but the RTP ones should start facing down, then turn left three times.

Call me (and by that I mean PM) if it doesn't work.

And remember, these directions are in the RPG MAker 2000 format, so no idea if they'll be any different for 3000.

um.. does 2003 have layers? if not you can make it an event and it should work. i have xp and it has layers for just that issue. I dont think 2003 does though so try makeing it an event right there and it should work. I always had to do that on rpg maker for the psx

Go to 'Area properties (right click the map you want to edit) and then select 'parallax' and pick a pic. To see it, you need invisible ground of some kind. Most tilesets use the FAAAAR upper-left chip as the invis chip.
