The distance from N to my house is also 1km. I can walk through the wheat field at 7km/hr and can walk along the path at 9km/hr. Towards which point on the path should I walk to minimise the total time taken to reach my house? (As in distance from point N)

I really don't get it. If the question is "how do I reach faster from S to H (the house) the easiest way is in a straight line thorugh the wheat field, ignoring the path:
H-----------N
S
Reference: H house N path S workplace
Distance from N to S and from N to H = 1km
Distance from S to H = 1.41km
Time to reach H if you go to the path and then to the house: 15 minutes (aprox)
Time to reach H if you go in a straight line from S to H : 9 minutes (aprox)
