I mean, I love the Zelda games and especially the Metroid games, Mario, Yoshi, and all the main stay Nintendo Super Star games, but to buy an entirely new console just as Blood said isn't worth it.
Isn't the new Zelda going to have Zelda AS the main protagonist too?

Zelda as the main protagonist? That'd be... interesting. Even though

I actually did that for the Wii. Reason I got it? Super Smash Bros. Brawl! Oh, and to play my Gamecube games.
Mon May 20, 2013 11:09 pm
I did the same, actually. The main reason I bought my Wii was just so I could play Donkey Kong Country Returns and Super Smash Brothers Brawl. ...In fact, I bought DKC Returns months before I even bought the console itself, pffft.
...The only other Wii game that has been added to my library since then was LoZ: Skyward Sword. All other games I have on it are Virtual Console downloads. =w=

Newest Wii game I got was Metal Slug Anthology, and it's damn awesome! Next Wii game I really want to get is LoZ: Twilight Princess. Not the Nintendo Selects
case, but the Original

I haven't heard that. I've only seen the gameplay trailer thing on YouTube.
Lots of expectations for the new Xbox system.

The Wii, despite its gimmicks, was still kind of solid and was fun since you could still use your Gamecube games and controllers on it. And indeed, there were a good handful of games that came out on it. I love Metal Slug Anthology so much. Great fun when I'm with my good pal to just shoot stuff.
But this Wii U... Too much. They went too far. I won't give it a single pleasant thought until there are at least 5-10 games I would buy for it that I can't play anywhere else. And even then it's still a maybe. Hopefully they let us have the opportunity to use a decent controller when we don't need that big lump of plastic they call a peripheral.

The Wii U does raid my curiosity on how they would expect one to play a Metroid game, or even a Zelda game. I think they're trying to do a game called Zombie U or something, a first person shooter as well. It will be interesting how they would pull that off with a "controller" like that. On the other hand, the controller seems like it could be a bit too big for their target audience which are the young children.

To be honest I'm looking forward to the HD re-release of Wind Waker than the new Zelda. Mind you I do have a Wii U and there are some pretty good games for it. Monster Hunter is one of them. But it needs more third part devs in order for it to float.
Tue May 21, 2013 1:53 pm
Man, Monster Hunter 3 HD is definitely the first game I'm buying once I get a Wii U. I loved playing it way too much on my Wii.
And I don't really care that much for Wind Waker, but I gotta admit it looks amazing. And apparently they're gonna talk about the new one that will come out for the Wii U before the E3.

So this is what I was looking at during college finals, so about a month ago. My friend showed me the pictures, saying this was the new Zelda. I was a bit skeptical at first, but didn't care much to look up details as finals were coming up. The idea looks interesting though, but this is all fan-made for a contest. Very well done at that.

It's a support fan-art thing following that hack, Anita Sarkeesian's video thing. Ignore it and it will go away, like here and her misinformed bullshit.

The best idea for a LoZ spin off I've seen was:
A stealth game where you get to play as Zelda during the 7 years Link slept on Ocarina of Time. Turning into Sheik, learning the ways of the Sheikah, sneaking around ninja like during the night discovering and destroying Ganon's plans...
Tue May 21, 2013 7:50 pm
We have ideas like that. And yet every game we play the same damn guy, in the same damn dress, breaking the same damn pot and yelling hey-ya.
Tue May 21, 2013 7:58 pm
And I regret nothing, really. I loved all I've played and I even played some several times. Mainly the original and Link to the Past.
Just a shame that Skyward Sword is the only one that allows you to repeat the bosses.
Tue May 21, 2013 8:04 pm
That's something that I wish many of the video games had now, a boss fighting mode. I know that Super Smash Brothers Brawl did that (to some degree), but just being able to fight against a boss whenever is a nice little mode.
Tue May 21, 2013 8:22 pm
Majora's Mask (you know the best one) let you do that to.
Tue May 21, 2013 8:41 pm
After going back through the dungeon again to fight them. But I will give you that one, because that does count in a way. Loved that game a lot nonetheless.
Tue May 21, 2013 8:55 pm
Not really. At the beginning of the temple (providing you beat it), there is a thing that teleports you to the boss arena. Also you have to reverse time to fight it again.
Tue May 21, 2013 9:19 pm
I think I remember that now. I will admit it's been a while since I've played Majora's Mask. I bought the game back for my 64 a while ago, but because of college and finals and my job I really haven't had any energy for it.
Tue May 21, 2013 9:22 pm
I played it recently since I have the Gamecube collectors edition along with the two first NES one and Ocarina of Time.
I even have the rare Masters Quest version of Oot.
Tue May 21, 2013 9:41 pm
I remember the Collector's Edition and Master Quest fairly well. Collector's had Zelda 1, Adventure of Link, OoT and MM if I recall. Wasn't the master quest of OoT just a mirrored map of the original with harder enemies?
Tue May 21, 2013 11:00 pm
I've heard Master's Quest's Temples was the equivalent of the Water Temple over and over.
Tue May 21, 2013 11:08 pm
Oh god, that water temple. I would rather slit my wrists. I feel like any water temple in Zelda is always a pain in the ass. The only other one that gave me as much trouble as the water temple was the sky temple/sky word in Twilight Princess.
Tue May 21, 2013 11:23 pm
I have Majora's Mask, and the Water Temple was to ONLY temple that was hard as hell to beat. I mean the earth temple was hard, but the Zoron Water Temple... holy crap. I even needed a freakin' walk through to do it... eheh, actually, I needed a walk through for the whole game...
Tue May 21, 2013 11:41 pm
It's like a requirement for those games.
