I find that an intense pursuit of material goods is unfitting of beings living on the comfort level we have achieved nowadays.

Like how someone will point out to me that I've bought something in a way that was more expensive while I could have easily saved some money on that purchase. Or when people are all hastily rushing to places where they don't need to be in at the exact time, and thinking that I'm not assertive because I don't mouth off that I want to be served immediately but am rather willing to wait my turn even when everyone around is cutting in line.

It's not really a holiday. There's no celebrating. It just signals the start of Christmas shopping season and stores capitalize on that with special sales.

Indeed, but I don't think I've experienced the second part of your post yet. There shouldn't be any rush with things like this, but as humans, we do want the best deals. I guess it appeals to our greed. I find it interesting that Black Friday class deals are coming out on the internet as well. I think its the Monday after or something.

I attempted to participate in Black Friday twice so far. Once 2 years ago to get myself a new computer (and failed since they were all already gone by the time I was allowed in the store), and then last year just to see if I could get cheap presents for family.

Indeed. But it's a whole lot more work than it sounds. Lately we even had some more rules put in for my job title to follow and I'm pretty much relearning shit, and it's a little annoying. Also, we put in a lot of effort for customer service. If you went to a Walmart or a Target after coming to us, you'd notice how shitty service actually is at most places.
