If this section is going to be on the right track we need to:

We need to lock Jasthn's welcome thread.
As unfortunate as it sounds,
we really need to stop posting there
since its purpose has expired a long time ago.

Use the report button.
I think one of the reasons why mods never seem to take responsibility
is because none of us seem to be using it.
They're not omniscient
and they can't check every single post of every thread that pops up
since they have their owns lives to take care of just like the rest of us.
That's what the report button is for.
We serve as their eyes.

Also we need an official talk thread.
Almost every thread that pops up seem to go off-topic
after users lose interest in the original topic.
We need to have a clear and visible talk thread
so that people who come here will know where to go
when they want to talk to the community.

It's cool with me. You're right the thread has lost its purpose really has expired and its no surprise that it needs to go. However, I beleive I have 2 options. 1) change the name to something more appropriate, and if possible 2) delete it myself so a mod dosnt to need his or her time with it. Either way, I don't mind if it goes or not.

It would make the thread confusing since the first few posts were intended for a welcome thread.
I recommend that you leave it as it is.
Jasthn wrote:2) delete it myself so a mod dosnt to need his or her time with it.
Once someone has posted in a thread, it can never be deleted.
The only way is to ask a mod to lock or delete it.

Not necessarily. I've seen Mir@k in here a few times as well. Although this is outside of his jurisdiction.

You don't have the power to delete threads. Even if they were your own.

We can ask Acktoo to lock the thread for us.
For now all we can do is redirect them to the talk thread.

You are certainly not a bad person.
Why would you thought of that?

Oh and we were talking about a thread entitled "Welcome." just in case you got it confused with your welcome thread.

I think a bit of RP-ing here and there wouldn't hurt.
Sending them to the RP section is a different matter.
A limit must be set so that something won't escalate into a full blown RP like what happened in the Welcome thread.
Jasthn wrote:So anyway, whats the first thing we're all going to tackle?
CH already posted 2 things that he wants to be discussed,
Tragicom suggests that we should use the 3 strikes rule,
Acktoo is suggesting that there is an easier way than this,
Blood Lord has posted his opinion to this "coup",
I'm suggesting that we should have an official talk thread...
Plenty of topics to talk about in here.
Jasthn wrote:My welcome thread?
Tragicom has already posted a talk thread.
We'll have to wait for the other's input about this first.

Umm, why don't we just get Jasthn to rename his thread as a talk thread instead of starting a whole new one. There isn't much difference between the ideas but I prefer mine for some reason.

If you're gonna start a three strike rule then you need punishments and, in my personal view, ways to lose strikes.

I'm happy with a little RP-ing but just like when Tragedy does.

That's pretty much the same idea that Jasthn suggested.
You just changed the structure of the sentence to make it more specific.
MQuinny1234 wrote:If you're gonna start a three strike rule then you need punishments and, in my personal view, ways to lose strikes.
I say we just report them the moment they did something.
If they've committed a violation because they're not familiar with the ways
then they get a warning and a piece of advice.
The moment they did it again because they didn't heed the warning
then we report them (using the report button).
Alternatively they could use flames or "words of wisdom" to teach them a lesson.
Also a good way to lose strikes I think is to not do that certain violation again for a long time
like days, weeks, or when the community forgets about it (as in they don't bother anymore).

RP-ing in a middle of a serious conversation is one example.
Also going too far like what happened in the Welcome thread is another one.

Sorry, forgot that, my bad.

About reporting everyone, won't that kind of force mods to be very picky, I mean most of them would turn a blind eye to a little bit of rule breaking but if you report someone, aren't you kindof forcing them to take action. I'm not so good with mods and rules, but this all seems a bit strict and harsh here.

Well, in all my time in the bleedman thread I was only given a warning, at the very start. I imagine Mods are pretty lenient to rules but that if you warn or report people you're kinda forcing them to act.

@Blood: For a reporting standard to be placed into stone, we would need to set up the majority of restrictions in place and grade them each individually. Once a certain point has been hit, then we can either decided to give him a second chance or just report him. Off course, the second chance means if he hits the top of the rooster directly and not have countless restrictions placed upon him. And finally, the mods do have to agree with this restrictions, or at least be informed with them, so they know were legit. Not to mention that rules will be changed/added every so often so it's gonna be a hassle for them

@Acktoo: I'm listening, but you gotta give me points for trying.

Almost none of us seems to have the courage/motivation/idea to post a new topics here
due to the fear of criticism, unpopularity, too insignificant for a topic, and being inappropriate for this section.

As said in this section's description (or any comic forum section in here for that matter) this is a hang-out place for fans of Ever After.
We are not required to stick only to the comic and the artist itself.
Some of us have already made topics that aren't related to the comic at all.

I think it would be nice if we post topics right here for our Ever After comrades to see rather than in other sections.
Spamming's still not allowed here and I don't think thread duplication is a good idea
(unless it's a news type of topic like what's happening between Spam and Snafu/Clan Snafu sections).

The main comic section (the Snafu/Sticky Floors/Tin/Training Wheels section) is a good example of this.
They almost post nothing about the comics themselves since most of them are dead anyway.

I'm not saying that we should copy them completely.
I mean we still post Endling's art here from time to time
or maybe even when a new page is up (if the comic ever updates at all).

We're (mostly) your friends after all and this is our hang out place
so why not share something with us here then?

For example: You like airsoft and you seem to bring it up from time to time
so why not post a thread about it?
Then we can talk about it here all we want.
You can post reports/complaints here (like nobody arrived for the match),
airsoft guns/gear models that you want to talk about,
or even invitations for a match (given that they're willing to or is geologically possible).

You may also want to discuss life situations here as well if you feel like sharing it with us (Ever After folks)
like that thousand leggers thread that stuff made.

There's much topic frequency about cars, books, history, anime/manga, etc. here too.
We already have a food thread so why don't these topics deserve a their own as well?
Broad topics like these I think is okay to be necro'd just as long as the upcoming post is still related.
Why make a new one if there's already a thread about it?

I'm not saying that we should only post "broad threads" but we can also post other types of threads
just as long as it's not a spam thread like "Hey <INSERT NAME HERE>", "Post anything you want thread",
or something fictional like "I killed a <INSERT SOMETHING> today! >:3".

Note: I've posted this here since this thread seem to be our "strategy/meeting room" of some sort if you're wondering.
