heehee. sorry, we got carried away.
It seems to me as if the current problem lies with MQuinny, Feivel, and possibly LilChoc.
I expected more from you two, but I did expect MQuinny to do this.

I would be offended but you're right there, can't blame you for that and I'm surprised too.

Maybe we should give PCHK immunity or something, she is the oldest here so..respect your elders? different generation kind of thing?, but she hasn't been here for a while so it might not be important anyway.

What I mean by that, is that you have expressed traits, and actions where it is hard for you to stay on one subject for too long. Now you have improved, but it still happens every once and a while so I understand. I am also proud of you for your improvements. You might not have noticed it, but I have.

We'll cross that bridge when it comes. For now we have other issues to deal with.

Now this goes for everyone. If you think I'm going to far, or did something to extreme, or perhaps made a unfair call. Talk to me about it, I do not bite... hard.

Do not fear me. I do not want to be feared, but respected. I respect you all for the points you bring up, and if you think I every go out of bounds, just tell me.

Nah, we were going to far and you called us on it. Going out of bounds may have been if you'ld reported us, maybe a bit harsh. You're quite good at this though. Anyway, back to the talk thread.

Fair point, but you don't really need it, you seem sane and orderly.

Know what else we should do? Stop with the editing people's posts when they typo. I can understand when it's "lYKE Oh MaH GaWd!" and crap, you can fix it.. but when it's a slight typo. Don't bother.

It's a method of enforcement.
I do not consider it as some silly game.

The question is in what degree will a typo be considered "slight".

A misspelled/misplaced word sure isn't slight.
Some typos can be passed as an accident so I guess it can be forgiven. (Like this for this for exxampple. Oops.)
Misuse of symbols like dots, hyphens, and such can be considered slight to a degree.
An intentional misspelling does not require a correction obviously.
Confusion of words like "its and it's", "your and you're", "there, their, and they're", "is and are", or "his and he's" is a frequent problem that may lead to further confusion.
Capitalization. Almost always forgotten. Seems slight but utterly ignoring it is laziness.
Also when someone makes the same mistake frequently. That's no longer slight. (like Digi's own version of the word "check" as "cheek" or "cheak".)
Besides misspellings there's also the sentences.

There's also the slang, "shortcuts", and jargon that needs to be considered.
It sure isn't a typo and it's obviously intentional but using it regularly is just stupid.
This is a forum not a chat room. Also this isn't a race. Practice proper writing.

Also if they know it's not the right spelling then help them out.
Don't just send them to Google or spell checker.
Some usually put this (?) next to a word when they're unsure.

Let's do exactly what you just said. Leave the slight misprints alone such as "exxample" or forgetting one letter like Blood did (see first post page 8 where MQuin corrected). It's not necessary to do. But the "you're, your" thing needs to be taken care of. So does "check, cheek" etc.

I think that as long as the message gets through clearly, it should be left alone.
For example: probably wrong, means S/He's is probably wrong.
It's easy to understand.

What do we do with typos of a different kind?

You know something like this:
Let's do exactly what you just said. Leave the slight misprints alone such as "exxample" or forgetting one letter like Blood did (see first post page 8 where MQuin corrected). It's not necessary to do. But the "you're, your" thing needs to be taken care of. So does "check, cheek" etc.

Hello this is my reply and I put it inside Stuff's quote because this quoting things [u]sooo[u] confusing..
]
Should we leave it alone too?

uh, don't report them or anything too harsh but get them to fix it. That's more of an accident then a deliberate typo.

Man, that was a confusing post.

Yes. That's what we should do.
I'm seeing a good example of this scenario right now.
Look for the top most post on this page.
Add "[/" before "quote]".

Yeah that warrants a report off the bat. You can't be that stupid to end up with something like that, it's definitely a troll.

It would have been nice if I forgot a letter, but I said "so" instead of "do"

Fix the quotation box.

Happened a couple of times to me in Spam and Bleedman.

Multiple quotes, trying to clean it up.

Meh. mistakes happen. Like Chocolate screwed a quote up in the News Section.

Firefox does make the spelling errors simpler to correct.

Yeah, I don't think messing up quotes deserves a report, unless done excessively and frequently, of course. We should probably just tell them to fix it.

I agree with Stuffie as well, I have gotten confused about the homonims(sp? sorry). I know I'm not the greatest speller but when people get into the internet speak I don't understand a word they say.
I am not quite sure what a troll is but if they're all like liveevilgirl I hate them.
