I've been wondering, since Endling created this comic himself, would he get all the rights and payments if a big tv station like CN or such wanted to animate his comic (he'd have to finish it first). I was just wondering since we're talking about Voice Actors and all that.

I think Endling need to spend some money before he can get copyrights or make Everafter a registered trademark.

But im not sure.

If he wanted to arrange for a cartoon to be made, he'd have to discuss with a representative from that animation company at length about how the rights to the series will be split. It'd depend on how stubborn he is on what rights he gets to keep, and how much CN wants the show.

Endling automatically has copyright over his EverAfter comic, though I think registering it and stuff makes it easier to take legal action or something. Don't know about trademarks.

But honestly, the first portion of EverAfter is so bloody. I can't imagine an American animation company considering animating it anytime soon. The cartoon industry here doesn't have a lot of room for mature titles, beyond dirty humour shows like Mission Hill or something, which are ugly.

I've noticed people in your country (Canada) make a lot of shows with moments you'd never find in American cartoons. But that's why I love it so much.

It's mostly because our studios can't compete directly against the American ones that dominate the market, so our studios are forced to fill out niche markets (or at least, the perceived niche markets).

Or so it seems to me, anyhow.

I heard it in another amv (it was kind of shocking), but I still think that the "normal " voice wouldn't be good in "normal" conversations (at least for Red).

The copyright issues for EA would be different than those in Grim or PPGD. All those fairy tales are public domain, after all.

Maybe Red should have a really weak voice, but she doesn't talk much.
If you think about it, before the accident, she was a normal girl. Seemed even polite or shy. So... maybe.
