Did you just ask why the back-up unit was smaller than the main security unit?

Oh, and the move red does in the center panel beats the hell out of her "whirlwind" attack

I dubbed that attack, with Endling's approval, the "Killing Spree" attack. The user jumps from enemy to enemy, decapitating them in the process, with extreme speed. Yet another example of Red's near DBZ-esque warp speed.

The reinforcements are supposed to come in fresh and fight a force tired out by the main force.

their are ussually fewer people in a reliefe force than the primary one because it is assumed the the reinforcements will be sent in before everyone from the original force is dead.
Reinforcements arent enough to stop Red though, I think it takes horse tranquilizer and brain inhibitors(I hope these don't play to big of a role in the comic or it will start sounding likea Firefly fanfic. River is really cool btw)

What a few quick slashes can wipe out the reinforcement battalion

But a lot of time is taken to cut the main force down to size....that's a big difference

If the reinforcements were larger than the main force, they would be sent first, effectively becoming the new main squad.

Think of it this way: You don't carry a pistol as a reinforcement and use a knife as your main weapon. Reinfrocements are not meant to immediately crush the opposition, they're the backup soldiers brought in when the main squad can't cut it.

An army isn't going to send in its reserve soldiers before its main troops.

What I mean to say is that having a backup is always a great idea, since it can be used in so many ways. But versus Red... it wouldn't really matter XD
