They are both good, but I still like Shining Force 1/2 battle system much better.

chrono cross sucks badly. in one day i spent 120 bucks on CC, legend of mana, and the guides for both (square makes their games intentionally obscure so that you are compelled to buy guides. you think you would have found knights of the round on your own? heaven forbid you want the ultimate weapons in FFX. anyway, i digress). that was the worst waste of money in my entire life, no joke.

as for the boss, you just need to level. it isn't often that you have to follow a particular pattern. oh, and not to spoil, but watch out for the super golem when you are on the blackbird. it's a MONSTER of a boss o.O

Chrono Cross is for the psx and it is a great game, it's not a very good sequal and only vaguely references parts of the original, but I liked it, I liked chrono trigger a little bit better but cross is pretty good and definatly worth the 40 I paid for it and the 20 bucks it probly costs now.

S.Golem is just like a normal golem, except it's a bit stronger.

Best way to level up is to find an enemy that uses Lock All, and defeat it. (No easy task) Those things give out a TON of Xp and Ap!

well since your question has already been answered I'll just throw in my two cents.

Trigger is better.

Cross is a good RPG but compared to Trigger I can't force myself to play it.

Trigger = PERFECT
Cross = alright, but missing ALOT, and way too many characters.

Also, just to note, The Chrono series have the coolest polt EVER!! Just how everything ties together with all the time travel and demetional warps and stuff, it WAY so confusing, but yet so PERFECT. Cross DEFENATLY adds to the plot of the series, making it SOOOO cool.

Super Golem...? It didn't fight back when I went against it. Maybe I'm just that good. At least, if we're talking about the one that's outside on the Blackbird's wing...

:spoilers but not really just help for killin golems:
ok, well with the twin golems you may want to try chrono's luminaire attack. then have a couple people heal. and if you dont have luminaire use lightning i guess.

By the way who did you guys choose for you team? I was Crono Frog and Marle. If I had Magus at the time Marle would have found her ass homeless on the street with no letter or recomendation for a new job.

i used chrono magus and marle, because i needed her healing. if i didn't bring magus (my sister and i got every ending, so we played a lot of different scenarios) then i took lucca instead since the C-M-L triple attack is a beast, and the M-L double attack is too. if i left chrono off but had magus it would be magus, marle, lucca. if chrono and magus were left off i took marle, lucca and ayla (she has a trick where regualr hits deal 9999 damage).

i think that covers it.

EDIT: i just realized the person who made this thread isn't that far, and that my post was spoiler heaven.

Magus, Frog, Chrono

Ya, they may not be the most effective but the three of them together is coolness.

if you need skill points then you do not have louminare. you get skill points after every battle. you need however many skill points before you get to use the spell.

See Smaug thinks like me Magus Crono and Frog it's not efficient but man the coolness. I mean wowie the coolness. seems like a lot of people like ayla I never really used her. I didn't uses robot dude either. Lucca barely. Man Magus and Sephiroth should fight it out for the title of ultimate bad ass EVER.

can you do that? Magus solo that is. Oh man I'd LOVE to see Magus return in Kingdom Hearts 2 or something. Hell that man should get his own game. Damn Squaresoft and there not reusing characters nearly enough. bastards. (never thought you'd hear that complaint did you. not reusing characters enough. silly David.)
