My friend sent me the torrent. Downloading that on the family computer during the day is probably a no-no, so I'm going to have to wait until night to download it. At least I'll be waking up to Advent Children goodness ^_^ .

I have chills, that movie rocked!

I was sooo crazy looking at this movie, all the nostalgic goodness. Cloud is by far my favorite character but in this movie he didn't really played the part; this is true for all the characters, but then again there wasn't much of the others to begin with. It would've been nice to see Vincent turn into one of his nightmare horrors.

I tried to catch all the FFVII references the movie had (summon, materia, magic, weapons, etc...) and it kinda bothered me; Bahamuth looked more like the Bahamuth of FFX and what was with Cloud's swords? I was expecting Ultima Weapon but all I got was sword assimilation.

Those swords were awesome. And agreed Bahamut was totally FFX bahamut.

FFX Bahamut has a thingy spinning around his head.
Admittedly, I don't think I've seen FFVII's version, but yeah. There was definitely no thingy spinning over his head.

And the swords popping out of the bike like that fucking rocked.

Advent Children makes me want to play VII again. It sucks, since I bought most of the Final Fantasies all at once, and was so overwhelmed by the sheer pile of RPGs I suddenly owned, that I haven't gotten around to beating any of them besides VII and I. I just haven't wanted to start. It's like wanting to climb Mt. Everest and thinking you'll never reach the summit >.< .

Hey, Cole, if you should come across a healthy torrent for FFVII PC Port anytime during October, tell me.
My bandwidth is almost kaput for the month, damned bandwidth caps.

No.
Best moment in the movie is a toss up between Vincent's mad crazy cap spinning shooting thing of KICKASS.
The Cellphone thing durng Tifa's fight.
Or when Reno and Rude were talking about their bombs.

Well I'm happy with it. It didn't ruin the story entirely because between all the ass kicking there really wasn't much room for story telling :P

I do wish some of the other characters got more screen time... but ah well.

I FINALLY beat the first disc this weekend.
Poor Aeris. :(

I was totally freaking out too. I mean, I knew what happened to her, but when Cloud went up there and drew up his sword I went "WTF, OMG They're going to make ME do it?!?!?!"

So yeah. Sephiroth is an ASSHOLE.

And thanks to DJ for explaining everything to me, cause the story line is insanely fucked up. It's definitely one of the best and most complex RPG stories I've ever played. Except for maybe Xenosaga, but since we haven't seen the entire story, and the second game was so awful, FFVII wins.

And the movie is making SO much more sense now.

You should try Vagrant Story. Unfortunately, it's unlikely you will find it now, since it's kinda rare. But I think it's easily Square's best RPG so far. It's more like a short story than an epic because the game isn't as long, but it's still very complex and mysterious. The graphics, gameplay and music are all great. I mean, the graphics are really good for a PS game. At least as good as the original MGS, with better special effects and equally cinematic production qualities.)

Added after 2 minutes:

XenoGears?

Xenogears was excellent, but considering that it is incomplete, I can't say it's better than FF7 or VS, because the second disk just seemed really unprofessional and was very disappointing. There wasn't even a world map sequence.

I said I wasn't going to watch it, but all my friends keep talking about it so I need to so I don't hear the whole thing from them before actually seeing it...

Are there any other torrent links? I tried the first one and it kept timing out. Kris' was just way way too slow.

I didn't search the whole thread in fear of spoilers. -_-

OK, slight problem with the subtitles. Neither of my favored media players want to use them. Will you be so kind as to inform me as to the appropriate way to obtain them in the movie? What player works best, where the file goes, that sort of thing.

It left wounds filled with crystals of salt...the screams...the screams...and the pants....Gods! The Pants!!!"

Hate to quote myself, but do the following things.
Kamisutra wrote:File --> Open File --> you now have a click browse and click on the movie file --> mark the subtitle box and click settings --> click on browse and click the ssa file --> click ok and the movie will start with the subs.

I used WMP to view it, and it worked just fine. If it still doesn't work, then it might be a codec failure.

Try using Media Play Classic.

That, or BSPlayer.

They automatically run subtitles if they are in the same folder as the video file.

If you use WMP or DivX, the subtitle file must be named the same as the movie file. It probably wouldn't hurt to have both of them in a single folder.

Or you can use http://www.videolan.org/vlc/
Which is what I use for most things, because it'll play just about everything. It also lets you choose exactly where to upload your subtitles from when you load up the movie.
