How exactly do ya go about setting one of these up, so it continually updates or whatever??

More info, dude.... What kinda cam ya got and what kind of program do you use? It should be fairly simple...

Are you making it update on a website you run off your own server, or one on a seperate server?

Well, you take a picture with the webcam, then put it up on a website...

Name the pic cam.jpg or something, so when you update it, you save another cam.jpg and overwrite the old file.

No, thats the wimps way. Real men have it update automatically.

Layne, all I can tell you is that your web cam should have come with a software package that would act as a cheap webserver on your computer. Then when you hook your webcam up it will dump an updated picture ever so many seconds (30?) to a directory on your computer like "c:program fileswebcamserverimages"

I'll sign up for the cam pages.

And yeah..I'd setup up auto update...but I like to add text to my pictures, get pictures that mean stuff, and make sure I'm not naked when the camera takes the picture.

Well, the cam software creates a directory on your HD that it dumps the image from the cam in, and overwrites it with a new one every 30 seconds or so.

Then the computer opens a port and allows people to access the picture in that directory.

They don't actually go 'into' your computer and look around, it just displays it like a picture on a website or in a signature somewhere.
