Even though I watch things on my computer, there's always something different about watching it on tv.

...besides commercials.

They're called fire ferrets...
Which Korra's team is named after...

It looks more like a red squirrel-ferret, which would fit right in with the Avatar world.

It's called a fire ferret. It's a mix between a red panda and a black-footed ferret

Why does watching the clip matter when the episode is on tomorrow?

Why not?

And I don't even know if that clip is from tomorrow's episode. It could be from another.

Welp, looks like I was right on the other Korra thread, about Amon energybending.

Looks like it, but he could very well be    putting up an act    knowing that    Korra    will be there just to    spread fear.
Do recall that when    Aang    did it, it was    super shiny    and    both the bender and the target    were    physically extremely vulnerable.
Not really buying it unless I see something more solid.

Or he has discovered some all important chi point and just paralyzes it.

I was hearing that theory a lot. He "gave his face, in trade for energy bending".
Incoming possible spoilers:

Energybending - A Comparison

While the Lionturtle and Aang use the same technique, Amon seems to be using another method.

When Aang takes away Ozai’s bending, and when the Lionturtle teaches Aang energybending, they both thouch TWO points on the body, the yin tang and the ru zhong point aka the Ajna chakra and the Anahata chakra.

When Amon ‘takes away’ LBZ’s bending, he only touches ONE point, the yin tang.

Now what could that mean?

I think Amon is faking it. That he is making people believe that he is taking away their bending, when what he is actually doing is blocking a chakra.

Here is why:

Amon touches the yin tang point aka the Ajna chakra:

Yintang Acupuncture Point

Location: Midway between the medial ends of the eyebrows Actions& Effects:
•Calms the spirit - insomnia, anxiety, stress.
•Frontal headache.
•Sinus issues - congestion, sinusitis.
When Uncle is teaching Zuko about lightning, he talks about bending needing a certain amount of inner calm. So, if you were to close that chakra and lock all the anxiety inside someone, making them incapable of being calm, that would effectively take someone’s bending away.

Quite clever actually, since the more terrified they are/become the more permanent this block will be. And Amon is sure laying it on thick.

Ru zhong, Ajna chakra, Anahata chakra.

I’d also like to note that he touches the back of his neck too. It’s really split second but he does.

Why is it called energybending anyway? Seems more like metabending to me.

Also, must admit, I really felt sorry for the other guys who lost their bending. Like ambutating or lobotomizing people in front of an audience.

Yeah, but still, what does that mean? It's only use so far as I recall is to take away other bending. That seems completely pointless if it was practiced in an era before bending. Like having an eraser before a pencil. Also, the connections are obvious enough, so we're probably right, unless they're pulling one huge troll.

I would be so happy if this is a huge troll. I'd probably be happier with that.

Taking people's bending ability away is not its sole purpose.
It might be referring to chi in general. Wuxia stuff.
I recommend you watch this movie.
It's pretty much CSI: Wuxia. Not sure if it the explanations work for someone new to the concept, but it does go very much into detail.

Yeah, I'm all for the chi-blocking theory on him taking away bending. And you know, he may not even be taking it away permanently, but the psychological impact it has on the person makes them believe they've lost it forever.

Also in favor of it just being an advanced form of chi-blocking.

That said, I am amazed at the pace this series is going at. It's somewhat disconcerting to have the plot moving forward in such leaps and bounds, but it still remains well-written. I was worried that the all the previews and trailers had given too much away, but now there's like a good six or so episodes where I honestly have no idea what will happen. I am pumped as all hell.

Also Asami is showing up in episode 4 or 5 according to the VA's purposefully vague comments. I'm excited to see what will happen with her since she seems to be a potential fourth member for the Korrew despite the lack of advertising she's gotten. Source.

Yeah, plot moves fast. I kinda guessed it would though, since it's only what, one season's worth of episodes?

Certainly a neat revelation regardless. Mainly makes me wonder what Amon's end goal is, though. With how insidious they make him out to be, just removing bending seems kinda... sensible. If his story is true though, that'd give him plenty of motivation I suppose.

Korra's clearly not capable yet in combat though, so even one encounter with Amon would leave her useless if he can depower people. Probably something about mastering the spiritual side of bending countering all this.
