News Corp's Rupert Murdoch was incensed with the White House statement. “So Obama has thrown in his lot with Silicon Valley paymasters who threaten all software creators with piracy, plain thievery,” Murdoch posted on Twitter. “Piracy leader is Google who streams movies free, sells advts around them. No wonder pouring millions into lobbying,” he added.

I don't think SOPA has been pulled, the article I posted was only about one part of it getting dropped.
Also it begins. http://tokyotosho.info/
Now if only a major player like google would shut down it's services for a day.

Google put a censor bar over its logo. :/

Wikipedia's blacked out (but only in English)
I think Reddit promised to shut down, but I believe it isn't the next day yet where their servers are hosted

I blacked out my tumblr.

If the Wikipedia thing actually becomes an issue for any of you, just access the cached version on Google.

Would signing the petition REALLY help? I have signed so many only for them to not resolve any issues, that I honestly don't sign them anymore, but if this one were to actually do something, I've got a lot of people who could also help out.

And that thinking is why they fail. Not enough people sign them because they think it won't do anything and they fall short of their goal. Sometimes the legislators don't care, but you still have to make the effort.

I'll sign and pass the word around to my friends. If this site gets nuked then I'll never find out what happens in the comics, and I hate not finishing a good story

Cool! We're on strike!

I can understand google not doing a full blackout since lots of people get to the other sites using google, though they could have done more... like a splash screen or something.
Though I'm not surprised that Facebook has done nothing.
Wed Jan 18, 2012 5:19 pm
I don't see that Yahoo! has done anything, either.

They're all businesses, Wikipedia is a nonprofit and so doesn't care. And there's really no good alternative to it either so there's no worry about losing traffic.
And Dresden maybe instead of signing petitions you should contact your representative.

When will the madness stop?! It's getting annoying.

Obama still hasn't decided whether to veto. There's a petition you can sign.http://act.demandprogress.org/sign/veto ... h&rd=1&t=3
