I don't think it had even updated since Dave put it back up.

The creator got AIDs during an extended missionary trip to Ghana. The terrible conditions and third world contraceptive usage (ziplock bags often found in the street,) ultimately resulted in this man eventually receiving the AIDs virus. They are currently undergoing treatment in the Phillipines, as they have superior medical care. As they do not participate in regular testing for contagious diseases and infections, it was not caught until lesions were found on their scalp and torso.

As Math said, it wasn't the same person who did the IZ comic. But yeah, it's been years since the last update, so that comic is as dead as it gets.

But as for the reason, I'm afraid the answer you'll have to settle with is "nobody knows".

I like to think it took Dave many sleepless nights to make the fancy buttons for the comics; when Dave was finished, he saw that most of the comics were dead but because making the buttons took so much work he refused to fix them.

I have a business phrase for that.
