Snafu, TIN, TW and SF haven't updated in ages(TW is cancelled, but the rest are not) and Dave doesn't come here anymore, since he is very busy in real life. Since Dave and the people who knew him in RL were pretty much the soul of this section, it slowly withered.

That's how web communities work, nothing can be done about it.

As long as Zeph posts we still have one last true veteran around.

today I was busy I went to the doctors and had him run an std check as a part of my physical (no probles just standard procedure every year with me). Then I had to get a shitty phone call from gsa involving work. Now I am at work. Yeah this section isn't as vibrant as it used to be. I fear I may have to tread into other sections than here and clan to kill time at work. But really it has been deader before it's a cycle thing. Dave needs some business savvy person rework his business a bit so he can free up time as it is it is simply not efficient. Six sigma this is not.

i mean
couldn't bleedman potentially make more money without dave? though i suppose the market's over-saturated in his home country for his style.

how does dave expect to live well from snafu unless he gets longer lasting, more committed, consistent artists in?
i know that's a lot to ask for on the internet but he could have been more picky than some of the shite up there.
how's dave gonna make a living when bleedman's done or moved on to something else or DIES?

These answers come down to maybe. Bleedman does not have the servers, and setup site already setup. This type of scripting has gone through many iterations and some specialized code is in play so that new artists only need to hook into the site. Bleedman would have to expand his personal hours away from just making comics into website administration sales and merch production, where under the current system he only has to worry about making comics. Although if he wanted to make more money he should expand into having Dave kick him out a vareity of T-Shirts. T-Shirts is good money. Same with books.

The answer to how Dave will survive is that he is not dependent only on bleedman. Shark Robot is Daves money maker and that hosts the merch for several online comics site. Most online comics sites cannot reasonably expect to produce their own merchandise. Other than Penny Arcade, which also does pvponline most comic sites simply are not large enough to warrant full scale production and warehousing.

and most of it seems copyright infringing

I am WAY too addicted to Marathon and watching Aftermath at the same time to ever be on here.

On the other hand, my school day was cancelled due to inclement weather aka snow. Yeah, it snowed yesterday at my place.

And I found something that made me laugh for the first time in awhile. Its old...and still funny.
