Oh, and by the way, Internet has gotten close to being cut off there. Fax machines and amateur radio communication seems to be one of the ways the Egyptians spread news about what's happening there. People (including Anonymous) are reaching out to help those people.

I'm paying attention to this as well, so far I'm wondering what kind of action we'll be taking in this. I'd find it odd if we did nothing at all given how we love to meddle.

We kind of have a full plate right now. I think we should keep an eye out and make sure things don't degenerate too far but remain mostly hands off. Let Egypt handle its own damn problems. Although we should make sure they don't start wrecking the history and art.

So, Mr. Mubarak is stepping down. This is a real big development.

I watched the protest in CCN.

Cairo got a shit storm-- Protesters throwing stones at each other. Lots of blood and crushed people. Military did nothing because they didn't want to get involved.

When protestors get impatient, they throw stones.

Either Mubarak steps down now or forced to step down and thrown to Hawaii...either way, he's fucked.

Sad, how the police, supposedly the protectors of the people, are used to such douchebaggery (that's a word). Once Mubarak steps down, the chiefs of police should get trialed.

Another question... if Mubarak gets the boot, who's going to replace him?

Well if history is any indication the military is going to be the ones who decide how this will proceed. And it will come down to who has more people and arms. If the military comes down on the side of the current regime there will be no real change, if the military comes down on the side of the people then Mubarak will likely have to step down. He isn't seeking reelection and elections are coming this September, I think the protesters are a bit unreasonable at this moment.
