Oh yeah. That game. It's been known for awhile now.

Just savoring the suspense.

Yay.
Bioware does amazing work.
Between this and Dragon age 2 I'll be taking sick days off from whatever job I have at the time.

Amazing. Just Amazing.

They always have the most beautiful trailers. Been waiting for this since, well. Since I beat Mass Effect 2.

I wish the thread title had said what it was about.

Then I wouldn't have had to click it.

They better put some goddamn weapons in the game this time. And better female characters.

Also, the story sounds cliche as all hell.    How did the Reapers get to Earth so fast? You kinda stopped them in the first game. That's retarded how they're already here when it was supposed to take millions of years.

They're all fucking sleeping and they've used the same goddamn plan countless times before. Something went wrong with their plan and they magically arrive anyway? Fuck that.

Unless there was some signal sent out by the Keepers or Harbringer or Sovereign waking them all up, having them dick around for a while before they realize everything isn't kosher-kosher, and then figure something out, I call fucking bullshit.

And the figuring something out better be plausible, too. They might be super-advanced robot aliens, but they still have to obey the laws of physics and shit.

I like roughly one out of every ten/twenty well-reputed (not shovelware) games developed by white people.

My favourite genre is the RPG, but the RPG done in the West is probably my least favourite genre.

I probably respect Mattel's Barbie game development house more than I do for Bioware.

I excluded it because it is an eastern game with sci-fi elements and I know he has played it.

Yeah, I don't care for western rpgs, either, just from the previews. There's always a macho male lead and it's obnoxious. I'm also not a fan of high-fantasy akin to TLotR, and western rpgs tend to derive from these.

Also, I don't think Vis has posted here before in some time.

Depends. I think each game should be taken on its own merit. There are western RPGs that are garbage, and there are JRPGs that are garbage. And the reverse is true with both being able to produce awesome RPGs.

No, I know. Nothing against them, I just don't like them.

For example, I enjoy playing the ABSOLUTE garbage JRPG Criminal Girls, IN A LANGUAGE I MOSTLY DON'T UNDERSTAND, more than I do Fallout: New Vegas, which as far as WRPG's go, I think is actually playable/not bad, which is more than I can say of Why-Don't-You-Just-Call-It-An-Exploration-FPG-and-Nix-the-Irrelevant-Leveling-System-and-RPG-pretense Bethesda games. I wasn't surprised when I heard Bethesda in fact had no part in developing NV other than the engine >_>

Just my tastes. Can't do much about it.

But yeah, Math, I'm fine with sci-fi, though most Western Sci-fi games are either too modern hollywood Scifi or too blatant Warhammer 40k rip off. Just can't deal.

Yeah, but right now people are encouraging it. I could almost hear the sound of metal grinding as the tin can containing the bait for a flamewar was opened. Suffice it to say, I don't care about anyone's opinion on WRPGs or JRPGs right now. I'd much rather discuss Mass Effect with people that care about Mass Effect.

That said, the title does suck.

Well, ya, you can rationalize it, but from a story perspective, it still sucks: ME1: "Yay, we stopped the reapers from invading!", ME2: "Yay, we stopped the plans of the reapers they were doing via a proxy-race.", ME3: "Oh noes, the reapers are invading anyway!". It kinda annuls all the effort done up till now.

Still, it's a bit early to complain. They obviously want the reapers wrecking shit for their trailer, but that doesn't mean that's how the game starts, or that there isn't some good reasons for it happening.

ME2's story was rather disappointing; its characters somewhat lackluster; its amount of weapons startlingly small; and its micro-transactions disgusting.

ME1, however, was a fantastic game, even if it had some shitty DLC. It had an interesting story with a plot twist that I didn't see coming and good characters (even if Garrus was a PoS in the first game, meh).

Seeing as how the Mass Relays were made by the Reapers, I'm going to go ahead and guess that they can redirect them.

Maybe. That'd be kinda interesting if they use that so that the Reapers can still wreck havoc with the civilized galaxy. It would still be impossible for the Reapers to come back so fast, though. There aren't any mass relays out in dark space.
