Hatsune Miku sold out shows.

Postby Spoopy Princess » Fri Nov 12, 2010 3:02 am

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/11/11/hatsune-miku-japanese-holograph-_n_782442.html

In what is surely a terrible omen not only for musicians but also the continued existence of the world as we know it, holographs are now playing sold out concerts in, where else, Japan.

Holographic idol Hatsune Miku is the creation of the group Crypton Future Media, using software from Vocaloid, and the group has put the avatar on tour with a live band. The sight of thousands of screaming fans waving glow sticks while the the holograph "performs" on stage is straight out of a science fiction novel.

I...I don't even know what to say, rofl. Japan is fucking crazy.

Bicentennial Woman. Ha ha.

The only genres I listen Miku sing are Techno/Trance/Electro Link Link.

Frankly, I prefer her in Techno than Pop Songs.

I commented on this in Spam, but from the video Stuff posted there I was quite impressed.

I don't really like Vocaloid franchise much though, find the singing rather lackluster.

Don't you mean WASN'T Gorillaz the same? Because with the plastic beach shows/live performances they've been showing the performers. Including Damon.

Gorillaz did two performances(the same song) using very similar technology, the technology at that point was very expensive, kind of fragile and highly sensitive to vibrations. Also animating 4 characters and getting very precise movements of playing instruments would be difficult for a full concert, though they did some cool things like characters moving across an entire stage.

Lol I have a feeling this is going to be the future of music. It frightens yet catches my interest at the same time.

It catches your interest because it's not seen large scale yet.

If this trend goes on eventually we will be paying 50+ bucks to essentially watch a private screening of a dvd concert.

Yeah. It's $47 converted from yen, so yeah, basically $50. That's typically a mainstream concert ticket price anyway.

Only concerts I go to are famous dj's in clubs since prices vary depending on when you buy the ticket. You could go dance to Armin Van Buuren for 20 bucks if you buy the ticket early enough.

If you watch all the videos on youtube, this is actually really cool. She interacts with the audience, and introduces the band and stuff.

Yeah it is neat. Amazing what they can do with holograms. How much time till holo porn comes out? The porn industry really likes new technology. I'm guessing 14 months.
