No program will really do that automatically.

However, you could go into something like Flash and vectorize an image by drawing over it (which you could then theoretically enlarge to as big as you like).

Takes some effort though, from my understanding.

The "Enlarge & Enhance" button Seen on TV is more or less theoretically impossible.

Vectors are handy though. Adobe Illustrator can vectorize images automatically, after which, indeed, you can do whatever you want with the image size, but vectorizing is always an approximation and tend to take some life out of the picture.

Right, that's what I meant. xD

"Draw over" as in, touch up the vectorized image so it looks less iffy.

Oh great geeky computer nerds hear my plea! Is Windows Firewall decent enough in your opinions? Cause yesterday I got a massive flood of trojans [by downloading Google's Picasa, mind you] that neither my AVG anti-virus could get rid of fast enough nor my firewall could prevent from happening.

Your firewall will only ever stop connections in the first place.

It can't do shit if you tell it to let a download through, and the download turns out to be a virus.

Hm, true enough. Guess I let my guard down with a Google download.

Most virus scanners have an option to scan files on the fly although they often charge for that feature. I really like Avast! for that. It doesn't slow my computer up scanning files I download.

Decent Anti-Virus + Windows Firewall + Common Sense is fine.

Well, ya, I wasn't suggesting you buy it ;)

I think there's a free variant, though, Inkscape or some such.

Most of the time. Sometimes shit happens, or what I have seen be the downfall of a few computers owned by very competent computer professionals. A woman, usually a mad woman.

It's just a popup add. DA needs to pick their advertisers better. I occasionally get shit like that showing up if I don't have a popup blocker going. For sights I visit frequently I drop the add blocker (here for instance) as long as the adds aren't intrusive, and one time I even clicked one of the snafu ads confirmed the company was legit via BBB and bought something cause they advertised something that I wanted.

One day should right a guide on effective internet advertising because most companies that buy ad space don't know shit about marketing. Every MBA book I have just frowns at that type of advertising. It's all buzz and bullshit. If you want to reach a target market. Great, If you advertise on a website, also great, but you need to do 2 things one is differentiate yourself from your competitors and two is to focus the fucking ad. 1 feature 1 issue. Walmart for example: How are they different? Low prices. What is the focus of their ads? Low prices. I know programmers hate people in marketing as a rule of thumb, but eventually your going to have to pay big bucks to a douche bag so that your advertising is effective.

I have access to wireless, but I'm using an ethernet cable. The wireless is still operational; can't seem to shut it off but I can disconnect.

I am assuming then that your the only one having problems. I suppose then that the first prudent thing to do would be to uninstall and reinstall your network card drivers.

It sounds like FF itself is fucked, to me. Try redoing that first.

Sounds to me like Firefox is locking up under heavy processor load. From your description of how it reacts (the fade to white), it sounds like you're running Vista. I sometimes have issues with that myself.

What kind of sites are you browsing when it happens? Are they heavy with Flash or Javascript stuff?
