Legal Translation

Postby Dark Dragon » Thu Jan 29, 2009 8:40 pm

I need a Russian birth certificate translated and notarized. I don't know of any local businesses that could do this for me, so I'm looking online. Can anyone refer me to a legal translator?

I can't offer you any direct advice here, but there should be all kinds of immigration assistance nonprofit orgs around you. Look those up and call and ask. If anybody besides 'Russian Birth Certificate R' Us' would know... it's them.

Also, how goes the membership to brides.ru?

Talk to a local notary or the closest INS office.

Chances are you already know a notary.

I didn't know I did until I needed something notarized, and apparantly people just randomly become notaries for the hell of it, because it turns out I already knew seven of them, and none of them had similar jobs. Weird.

Then this probably wasn't the place to post, especially for such an obscure request.

I recommended notary or INS because they could point him to someone certified in translating.

Thanks for the suggestions, Whatis.

Surprisingly, I got more positive replies in Spam.

Mine was serious before the brides.ru comment. Seriously though, how's that working out for you?

I think that is what you are looking for, I could be wrong though.
