Welp first day of school is down. I went from 3:30 til 10:25 (we got our early). Most of it was stupid orientation stuff cept for 3d Animation I. Out professor in their kicks ASS, so he like skipped all that and let us all do a simple animation in 3ds Max of the moon revolving/spinning around a spinning earth. Ubber simple but it really did make me learn alot of basic stuff so w00t to him.

Also I found out my Media Design teacher designed the software disk for my other media design class. So I guess like...she knows what she's doing then. All classes so far look like they're gona range from good to rocking on hard. In my media design class with the lady teacher who made the disk me and a group will do a final project of basically conceptualizing a video game.

My first day:

Show up to my 8:30 am class only to discover that the teacher is going to wait to start until 9 am in case not everyone got the message about the class starting a half hour earlier now.
Got out of there at 10:45, ate a granola bar on my way down the sidewalk, and sat in history from 11-11:50.
Went to the Union and grabbed a sandwich, animal crackers, and some water and made my way to the dance building where I ate the animal crackers, and waited for jazz to start at 12:30.
Got out of jazz early at around 1:20-ish, went back to the Union and bought 200 dollars worth of books, then walked back across campus to my dorm where I have since remained since about 2 this afternoon.

Uber cheap compared to most places. I think for out of staters its like ~$1500 a semester. For me after technology fees and everything its $1024...but this year the State upped the free lottery assisted tuition (basically ANYBODY can get this scholarship as long as they're a resident and passing) and it covers all of tuition. I just have to pay for books.

We get alot of people with bachelor's in there who don't wanna necessarily get another degree...they just wanna learn the newer software packages.

I was getting a little tired of the Eva chicks.

Its a technical school in South carolina. Most of their programs suck but after talking to the Dept. head of Graphic Arts I have full faith in all their graphic programs. They were THE first school in South Carolina, and one of the first in the south east, to other website development and media design.

Website design classes are hilarious because like half the class can make one in their sleep, and the other half doesn't know what HTML is.

Yeah, that is uber-simple animation. absolute easiest way to do it would be to parent the moon to a null, move the moon away from the null, and add the planet. Rotate null, and BOOM! Instant (and perfect) rotating moon, with independant rotation for the moon and the earth. Add another null, parent the Earth and Moon Null to that, and then you can do the same thing, only have it rotate around the Sun!

Uber-simple stuff.

I gotta leave for my first class in about 10 mins or so. (Night class...)

Heh, it's alright. I LOVE that show. I'm semi-obsessed with it. I've been trying to find the box set, because I finally have the money for it, and I REALLY want to own it so I can watch it whenever I want, and so that my boyfriend and I can sit down and watch it. It's a GREAT anime, and his brother either has no taste, or bad taste, so he needs my help.

or you could be like us 2D animators and say 'moon? that's background stuff....' or the other thing we might say is 'give it to the 3D animators' :p
now I want to try and see if I can make it look semi-decent....

Actually alex we just attached the moon to a circular path around the earth object and set it to rotate 360 degrees. Then we rotated the earth 360 degrees and voila. I dunno what the hell you're talking about but the teacher explained the way we did it to a group of complete 3d n00bs in half an hour and most of that was spent telling jokes and explaining stuff.

Now granted my earth was on its side but it was still my first animation ever. Super simple. I can't wait til we actually dive in over the next few weeks.

*makes a cute "awwww" noise*

awww! cute!

But just FYI, I don't actually wear glasses ^_^ Just in that one pic. I'm more of a contacts kind of gal. Glasses, as you know, can um, get in the way sometimes.

But thank you :) Seeing cartoon versions of myself is really cool.... Especially when the artist makes me look good...and gives me a bigger chest than I have in real life....

Well I would....
In fact, I do wear them quite often...
But they're two perscriptions behind my contacts.... so until I get that fixed, I'm very limited to when and where I can wear them.

And since my eyes are so damned sensitive to light, I can't wear them during the day time if I'm driving somewhere.... or the sun will blind me.

So... yeah... I need to get all that fixed....

Glasses -can- be sexy. Not coke bottle glasses though. I don't care how hot a woman is, when her eyes appear 4 times larger than they should be thats not sexy its more humorous or off setting.
