I only picked Pearl because it has two exclusives I want as opposed to one.

For the record, they've changed every game to make them different. The basic concept behind it is the same, and so is the basic plot. So what? They change the battle system and statistic system every game, which is enough to make all the old Pokemon exciting again.
There's a reason this is the best selling series ever next to Mario.

I will be at EB games at 8 am for the early opening to get mine. It is already reserved and paid for. Not realy that excited about it just have nothing else to do. I do realy want to play it though. I had to confinscate my ds from my friend.

It's 12 in Japan. First versions came out in 98 here. So unless you were playing imports, it's essentially only 8-9 years old for us.

1) Hold Items and Berries introduced
2) Special Stat split to give an attack and defense stat for both
3) Double Battle added for two-on-two action
4) "Contact Moves" introduced
5) Innate abilitiwa introduced, allowing certain Pokemon to do various special things
6) Move types split to make each individual move rely on itself for determining physical/special types, rather than just the move type

Basically, unless you've been acutally playing the games, you wouldn't really notice or care what things have been changed just with the battle system alone.
