Yeah I think Dragon Ball Z drained Toriyama pretty hard.

I didn't think Sand Land was that bad. It wasn't a masterpiece by any means, but I thought it was pretty enjoyable. At least is had a decent first chapter...
I miss Dr. Slump. I only read the first couple novels though, since I can't find any other scans online. A shame, it was an entertaining read despite most of the jokes falling flat. It was silly with likable characters, which is good enough for me. My standards arn't that high though.
Rival wrote:All I've read about it, that is confirmed, is that they're taking subtle jabs at each other, but jabs can be friendly. Naruto and 666 Satan constantly poked fun at each other and made references/spoofs, but the authors are twin brothers and best friends.
All the rest is mangastream staff interpreting. For one they aren't industry insiders or reliable sources of info, to me it seems they're projecting what they want to be the reason for the jabs. Based on how people with their level of maturity would handle a high profile rivalrly between two shounen manga, if they were the authors.
I didn't know Kishimoto's brother was a mangaka too. Strange, since I've heard of 666 Satan.
You're probably right. I thought that the two had some history together since Mashima's style of drawing in Rave Master and early in Fairy Tail looked similar to Oda's style. That may be just me though.
And Mashima is a Christian, so I don't think he has it in him to bash someone else's work.

Uh, yeah, christians would never do that. They are inherently and always totally good people. Unlike those filthy pagans over in the east.

Man when is the next EVA movie coming out? I need to see EVA 4.44 Shinji did (not) fuck up.

No release date yet, I wouldn't expect a release before late 2015.

Everything good must come out a year after!

I'm so dull lately, no Berserk, no HXH, no fucking Vagabond.
Fri Jul 26, 2013 6:23 am
HxH and Berserk didn't have their last released chapters end on huge cliffhangers (at least by their standards), so I find it much easier to be patient than usual. With HxH especially, I am just happy the Chimera Ant arc got tied up in a very satisfying manner, there were moments when I had doubts it could be pulled off.

One Piece one-up-manship levels just hit critical.

Has anyone here read World Embryo? It's a pretty good manga.

Given your avatar, I might give it ago.

I've been trying to keep tabs on World Embryo. It's decent. I just finished up reading Blazer Drive myself. Reading through Aiki currently.

Yeah, that's definitely one of the funnier scenes.
Beware for anyone reading that manga though, it's totally NSFW

*Due to the NSFW recommendation, checks out the manga*

Isutoshi (いすとし?) is a Japanese manga artist, creator of erotic comic series Slut Girl and the non-erotic manga called Tende Freeze!

Yeah that was completely obvious chapter one, a lot of Japanese artists do porn originally.
I still can't get over the transition from FMA to Silver Spoon, how can you go from a Manga about abominations against god to cows?
Sun Aug 04, 2013 7:01 pm
I guess she just felt like doing something completely different.

Hiromu Arakawa was raised on a dairy farm, so it's influence of childhood memories.

This is the first chapter in a long time that I somewhat enjoyed in naruto.
Attack on Titan chapter was also interesting.
One piece... WAIT, if the factory is under the Colosseum where are franky and sanji being led to?

Yeah that was a pretty badass scene in Naruto for once in awhile. Hasnt really been any scenes like that since he first used the Rasen-Shuriken. More amused at the fact that his dad just has that "duuuh" look on his face.

Soul eater's ending was good enough for me, although the boob thing, i was like what the fuck
Mon Aug 12, 2013 5:38 am
Huh, soul eater ended? I had expected it would last for years and years yet. I guess it's not totally impossible they'd pull a Brotherhood on it then.
Mon Aug 12, 2013 6:58 am
There's still Soul Eater Not if you're really in need of more.

Eh I doubt it. The FMA manga, but especially
the 1st anime series were gigantic (I didn't even like the 1st anime that much, but it's a fact it was a huge hit), it didn't get a theatrical movie, back when that was very rare, for nothing. So it made sense for Bones to try and cash-in with a 2nd more faithful adaptation.
The Soul Eater anime while decently succesful, can't really be compared to that, neither can the manga.
