Son Goku is the Japanese translation of Sun Wukong (Journey to the West), but I'm going to bet it's meant to be a direct reference to Dragon Ball, because Kurama is a nod to Yu Yu Hakusho, and Toriyama and Togashi are Kishimoto's biggest influences (from what I've read and what I've seen). If you didn't know, before Togashi created Hunter x Hunter (1998-), he created Yu Yu Hakusho (1990-1994, during the Dragon Ball days); just like Hunter x Hunter, the main characters of Yu Yu Hakusho are four friends and the Kurapica of their group was Kurama: a demon fox who possessed an unborn human child to save himself from death. Also, Son Goku's jinchuuriki is named Roshi...
It's quite fitting for these two to be revealed first, and since I don't know of Kishimoto's other influences (though he does admire Oda) as well as how both characters are protagonists from older cliche shounen series in Jump who can transform into their respective animals, I wouldn't be surprised if the other bijuu go unnamed. Anyone care to take a stab?
Maybe the cat will be named Yoruichi and the Shukaku's real name is Chopper.
Dave keep your damn near racist ignorant logic as far from the other sections of the site as humanly possible because it hurts my face just thinking about it.
