Registration EVIL.

Postby MasterNightBlade » Fri Jan 09, 2004 1:39 am

I hate registering for classes, especially this semester, even though its only my 2nd semester as a college student. Why you ask? I had priority registration through EOPS/CARE, and I signed up. 2 weeks later, I find that none of my classes were added, so I registered again and got all my classes. AGAIN. Finally, I check again today, only to find that the STAR system botched it again, and that I needed to Re-REregister. I did, but now I'm on the waiting list for my math class.

And people wonder WHY the system doesn't work.

No math 215 for me. None. I need it for next year, and i've been told no math now, and don't expect any durring the summer term either. I'm supposed to magically pull a math prof with a phd out of my ass and have him teach me math.

In Catholic school that's actually a legitament option.

My school does online registration, it's awsome it takes less than 10 minutes and has a search feature. There is also a neat phone one too.

Yea, we have online registration too. It takes ten minutes to find out you can't get the courses you need.

really? Ours has a list of classes that follow the search and a list of how many people have enrolled and the max that can enroll.

UVSC's registration is awesome. You can do it from anywhere, it's instant, and it has all the info you'll ever need (hours of credit, teacher/room, # seats still avalible). For the last week though, it hasn't been working on this computer, so I have to go all the way to campus to register. Still a nice system though.

It's not the registration that my school has trouble with. It's the getting the fact that you can't have two people for every three classroom spaces to fit through the thick skulls of the administration.

Every year, the number of students at my school goes up. The number of class space does not.

yeah, I was flipping out last summer because it was getting on in months and I needed to know what discipline I was accepted to so I could REGISTER. 'cause at UBC, it's REEEAL easy to register. But that just means that you have to wait for the clock to hit 12:01 and have all the browsers open that you need and hit "ok" on every single one simultaneously, otherwise your spot will be gone.

God Bless Standard Time Tables v_V;;

Oh, and then there's the glorious fun of trying to FIT all these courses together :D HAAHHAhahaha *dies*

I forgot to mention that. When it was my registration date, there were three seats left in four of the sections I needed. Thanks to cable internet, and my awesome clicking skills, I got the classes I needed, but therest of the seats were full by the end of the minute.
