K, I'm putting together some pictures from our new years party. I brought a camera with me to it because I knew 16-way Mario Kart would never happen again. Due to some 'me not knowing how to work the camera', and because the pictures are HUGE (really nice digital camera), I need to fix them up a bit in Photoshop. Then I work in a couple hours, so... it might be a while, but it will be up tonight.

Sounds godly fun ^_~. Sadly I have yet to play that game, but I have so many intentions to do so.

16 - Way Mario Kart: Double Dash

Dave Stanworth hosted the party at his lovely house on the dune in the middle of nowhere.

Here's how things where set up:

Things took a while to setup (mostly waiting for other people to press the 'A' button), but things were quickly under way.

And I though this deserved a picture. The Hub!!

With all going well, stupid uninvited people come to down everybody's spirits. Everyone slowly gets tired of playing Mario Kart.
These people (highlighted) SUCK. It got really pointless when you could take 1st time after time without effort.
Image

Basically everyone brakes after around 6 hours of playing, and eats the mass of candy brough by the cooler of the guests.

After that, poker and Risk ensue...

(The only picture with me in it. I was the camera man the rest the time. Thats me on the very right)

I'm sure this awesomeness will neveragain happen. By FAR the best New Years I've ever had. Kudos to you Dave, and thanks for having me over night after night. Also thanks to everyone that brought the TVs, games, Cubes, cords, hub, controllers, etc., etc.
Hope everyone's holiday's were just as much fun (even though I know they weren't).

Just a note on the pictures. I didn't know how to work it very well. One option had flash, and I didn't want to screw up everybody's playing. So, I used the other one, which didn't use flash, but took about 1 second to take the picture, resulting in blurs when anything moved, including my hand. Still, I think they turned out rather well.

I also have a 9.2meg, 35sec .mov file, if anyone wants to host it.

Man. I hate you all SO much for having so much fun. That much safe and apparently soberish fun should be illegal. Which makes no sense.

Damn, I wish I had friends. XD

Were you using the Scenery mode? That has a very slow shutter speed used to capture more light and thus the "ambience" of the photos. My fuck I had a hard time with it in moving trains taking pictures outside when it was dark. Can't do it. And the damned Motion mode has a shutter speed so fast that no light gets in. *shakes fist*

I remember a day when I had about 8 people come over just for us all to play duck hunt on the NES. Much funness, shooting ducks in a videogame. Of course I sucked when it came to aiming, but oh well.

*tear* Layne those pictures brought back good memories of the good old days... Two days ago...

Dude that was a good night. It makes me hella miss high school life when something like this happened on at LEAST a weekly basis. Layne kudos for documenting the funness. I'd have to say it's my favorite New Years by far as well.

Next year hopefully I'll have my own rented house and we're throughing the biggest party of my life no rocks... Well it will be hard when you take into account the Junior year of High School party. You remember Layne the one where Whitney Crashed her Van into a ditch and I didn't attend most of it when it was at my house... Yeah that party.

Weekly basis? What the hell are you people? Evil zombified cyborg school-nazi ninjas who got homework done in a second and had game play time the rest of the week?! And actually having FRIENDS to have parties with? Ye gods. Damn robotic zombie Jew haters.

Dude High school is a JOKE Saria. We finished homework in class EASY then the second it was over till we went unconscious we played. Usually starting with Tennis until we couldn't move and then ending with gaming/movies until we feel asleep. Wash lather repeat. I'm just wondering how I allowed myself to become such an unsocial prude. Oh yeah changing college every single year makes it hard to make long lasting friends.

FUCK.

Damn...zombified, etc.

I wish I had that sort of time. Right now I have three books to read in about three days and one is 700+ pages long. Then essays to write on each. And I'm on this damned computer, multitasking and playing Animal Crossing.

FUCK.

Nice. I have to read a book (only 100 pages to go, yay) than write an essay.

I never did homework on Winter break... and was always open about it.

Do you have your winter assignment?
-No.
Why not?
-I didn't want to do it
Well that's hardly an excuse
-I was on vacation, and working on vacation is a mortal sin... give me the F please.
blah blah blah blah blah blah

I never really heard much after that... it was usually some lecture about how I should have a better work ethic or how in the business world I'll need to do work on vacation... etc etc.

When my job pays me full time pay to take a week off and gives me some light field work to do... I wont have a problem with it. Since my school never sent me a check, I never did their shitty homework.

The beauty of going to tech school is; if you have a high school diploma... even if earned with straight D-... you're good enough to attend. Once you get in college... no employer ever gives 2 shits and a fuck about your high school. In fact in my resume building seminar they suggested we don't even list high school... if the college is there it is implied you went to high school. The only reason you have to worry about grades in HS is if you're planning on a very serious college... which I wasn't.

Thankfully University does afford an actual "break" during Christmas. Of course it's a break during which you generally have to work your ass off to afford University. Oh that and rezoomes!! Yay resumes... >_<;;

I'm with Dave and those who also agree ( :o ), High School was a joke, I generally finished my homework before I went home >_-
