Well fell asleep and got a few more results on the survey then needed (which is a good thing.) I'm going to do the same survey again later in the day in 5 hours from now and it's currently 9 AM Mountain time so around 1-2PM Mountain Time I'll put the survey up again then I should have a pretty good idea of the demographic during slow hours and busy hours. Then yeah We'll be all done Surveying for a long time I'd imagine. Probably till next year even. Thanks again everyone and I look forward to comparing the results from the two surveys!
k so I just checked my server stats for the first time in literally months and i found out that right now is the second lowest traffic hour on average Snafu has. i.e. the only way the survey could have less traffic is if I put it up an hour ago on the worst hour for Snafu.
With that said once this survey fills I'm going to wait until one of the highest hours of Snafu traffic (later in the day) and I'll put the survey up again just to see how fast it fills up. Honestly this is for my own sick curiosity at this point. Even though it's going to cost me $20 bucks for another survey this is the most fun I've had looking at bar graph charts... well ever.
I just realized that the required 1,000 responses that I was worried about getting in time for me to go to E for All this weekend I'll be getting in under an hour. And to think I was going to go to sleep and wake up and see how the survey went. But looks like I'll just stay up and take it down once it's full.
K as I'm sure you've probably noticed there is a Snafu Survey link on the banner up top of every page.
But what's already FLOORED me is that it's been under a minute that the survey has been up (it tells me that stat which is cool) and there have already been more thank a person a second that's completed the survey. Which is amazing since holy hell it would take me that long just to read and get through the thing. Seriously I've SUPER amazed right now sometimes I forget just how many people are actually on this site at any given second. I mean it's 5:35 AM right now and still that many people.
I don't know how to handle that right now.
But thanks SO MUCH everyone for taking the survey. Especially those rich american videogame anime junkies ;) I'm kidding. But yeah seriously guys this will really help out Snafu knowing our demographic better and will also help me decide what type of comics to add to the site in the future among other things. Seriously thanks again!
Well I know I said there would be a new comic today. But I didn't realize I'd be such a douche today. Today's John's Birthday. The John that died this year in a motorcycle accident. I woke up crying and I still don't feel too good about life right now. We're going to have a birthday party for him tonight. He's 25 today. But yeah, no comic.
K here is the deal. I haven't missed a Snafu update since I got back from conventions and this was a point of pride for me. But my friends Jepha, Quinn, Dan etc from the band The Used are about to leave on a world wide tour and I won't see them again till Christmas. I saw them last night when they played here in Salt Lake City and it was fun etc. But they're playing again tonight in Vegas and I want to hang out more and yeah. So I'm going to go to vegas right now and I won't be back till Late Monday night. Which means sleep then Tuesday night I can make a comic for Wednesday morning. So yeah new Snafu on Wednesday. Love you guys.
So I'm super busy with a lot of things right now and it just barely dawned on me what I did yesterday. I didn't leave my computer from the second I woke up to when I finally got done with the comic at 4 in the morning. Not saying I was working on the comic that entire time, far from it. But I was working at the computer the entire time doing something. I didn't even eat. I had a box of Sour Patch Watermelon candies that I devoured nearly all of yesterday alone and that was my sustenance for the day. I didn't realize that until just barely. I woke up, sat at my computer did my morning routine of e-mail, forum, myspace, whatever else while snacking on Watermelon candies the whole time. Then it all dawned on me.
So I've decided I'm going to take a break and play some Tennis this morning. normally I wouldn't but yeah realizing what happened yesterday and that I was going to do the exact same thing today. Yeah I need a break.
This is where our story begins at my local FYE store where they were cool enough to have a midnight release of Halo 3.
immediately opon entering you can see a line of jocks, bros, football players, fraternity pledges and various other people that will never ever be my friend.
at this point I did what anyone would do at a Halo 3 release party.
I proceeded to NOT buy Halo 3.
Lines are SWEET!
The store was kind enough to place a table of Halo merchandise so I could conveniently see what other Halo merchandise I was not buying.
and judging by the fact that there was only one item missing nobody else was buying this stuff either.
this is me finally at the checkout trying to explain that I wasn't there for halo at all and I just wanted to reserver Smash Bros. I giggled.
Mission complete.
I would say that made me the coolest person there. Except that I got OWNED by the girl standing in line right in front of me. She went to the Halo release party just to buy a random music cd.
So she totally didn't buy Halo before me. Dammit all. I just couldn't wait to be the first to not buy Halo. But alas, she was my better this round.
