I went to make the new Snafu comic last night and I managed to break my entire computer. I've got the OS reinstalled and now I'm off to work on the comic again. Expect it by tonight. Sorry for the delay... again.
Well Tin and Zim both updated because we finally have access to the servers again! Also three rather large updates are coming soon.
and on a personal level my Cell Phone service that I canceled finally ran out of it's 30 day ending period. It's now a paper weight and I can't call or be called at all. And I don't have a replacement phone yet.
Huh just looked at my first news post and this one. July 9th I started with the new server. and now it's August 8th. It's been nearly a full month and it's just now getting finished. SO SORRY it's taken so long. I'm terrible with these things apparently but I promise it'll be worth it. Promise. Thanks for everyone's patience really Snafu fans are the best. I'm sure the other Snafu artists (although enjoying the break) are also very excited to begin updating again. It's been too long.
K the server is like 90% up and awesome there is just one major thing left and I can update again. That major thing is I can't login with FTP to upload the new comics quite yet. I don't know why. Because I'm logging in but I can't see any of the files or directories to put the comics in. It's quite odd really. As soon as this is figured out I'll upload the new comics promise. I really believe this is the LAST problem honestly. And once that's taken care of it's smooth sailing.
I hope.
But anyhow not that you guys know them but Ryan and Adam have been helping me out with the server problems in ways I can't even begin to explain. These two dudes are the awesome in ways that I can barely even explain.
K the server is almost to where we can login and finally start updating the comics again! SWEET!
We actually have a new Zim update as soon as we can login and upload the comic. And I'll make a Tin comic for tomorrow and a Snafu for Monday for sure before my exodus of the crazy tripple con trip all at once tour. Crazy I say.
Well I just got back from Fandemonium and the server exploded accordingly. Something wasn't setup quite right with the new harddrive but no biggie we've got that fixed. Damn though this will be so nice to be completely finished.
Seriously this video is amazing. But all I can think of is there are 1,500 people there and everyone one of them raped the shit out of the dude dressed like a girl that night.
But all joking aside this is a brilliant idea. Seriously I hope America straight up steals the ideas of the Cebu jail. It's just too perfect. It could drastically improve rehabilitation to inmates and make far better conditions for them ingeneral. I know I would straight up pay to see 1,500 people put on a show any day of the week and that could more than generate enough money to pay for jails. Seriously this could be a lot bigger than just a Youtube video if someone would get on the ball.
Wow server trouble aside I'm buying Halo 3 now. Four player online co-op... Wow. It's everything I've ever wanted and more. 2 player co-op is heaven but I've always wanted 4. And online is just great. I HATE Halo, always have, but now number 3 may force me to get into the series.
k guys the new server has a harddrive error that will eventually crash the harddrive. So we need to replace it. What this means on your end is that the site will go down for a little bit (again) AND all the posts in the forums that have been made since the server switch will most likely be lost. Sorry. But it's dumb luck really.
Super sorry Snafu is going to go yet a bit longer without real updates. But I PROMISE once the server is setup and working 100% it'll be well worth it. Snafu will go a lot faster and be able to handle lots more comics and things. Plus I'm going to do some slight redesigns to the site and add some more features here and there. I may even get the fan art section working again *gasp*
Well the server is "almost" there... but I think we may have a harddrive failure... so umm it's not quite almost there afterall. I need smart people to help me look at error logs but yeah FUCK.
Hey Snafu fans, this is ComradeF posting for Dave right quick while he's at Otakon. We're sorry the server move has taken so long, but it does look like everything's settling now. The last part is, of course, the forum... it's still down because the database is so huge that we actually need the server admins to import/restore it for us locally! Wow! Bet y'all are just itching to get back to it, then. Hopefully we'll have some good news on that front within a couple days. =)
k I'm ultra pressed for time and now after upgrading the servers money. So I need to get not one but four website jobs finished before I leave to Otakon on the 19th... So yeah. I'm going to be scarce again. Sorry bout that. But yeah I just spent more money on the servers than I ever thought possible. Once they're all setup and running though I do hope it was totally worth it. Still waiting for the parts to come in at this point.
I'm pretty excited honestly.
But wow expensive. It's the 2nd most expensive thing I've bought in my entire life. Kinda crazy.
Snafu is getting New Servers soon it should hopefully be quite the upgrade. But the site may slow down or even go down randomly over the next week or so. Hopefully not but you can guarantee something will happen while we switch to the new hardware.
Oh and this is also a new T-shirt I sell at conventions. Overdose My Anti-Drug. Classic. I probably won't get the online store updates with this year's shirt design until after I'm done doing conventions this September. Sorry everyone had to wait so long But I just can't keep up with conventions and online orders by myself. Sorry.
