I'm not going to lie. I got really bummed out making the comic. Which wasn't even this comic it was a different one. But the subject matter got me really really depressed. So I just stopped and threw this together instead.
As for the actual movie Fantatic Four was a good movie despite what the comic would lead you to believe. Not great. "Barely" good actually. It's enjoyable to watch I guess is what it comes down to if you can get past it's lameness. Silver Surfer was neat. But holy hell if the first one wasn't the worst super hero movie ever only surpassed by maybe Hulk then I don't know what is.
I LOVE this song. And the video is RAD. Seriously Dustball is a talented dude. By the way if someone wants to buy his CD's and... share them with me that would be cool.
I tease. I'll probably end up buying it myself. I'd feel bad stealing from an independant awesome internet artist like this. But buy the CDs anyways. Even if it's just for the song Seven it must be worth it.
This totally happened. I didn't have anything to clean the toilet with so I thought I'd use my laundry detergent instead. I felt a little irked when I realized the toilet smells as good as I do.
Anyhow I was playing with a bunch of stuff with this comic. First the general character style I tried a few things before sketching the comic. Which is VERY unlike me. Usually I just think up of a new style and go for it no matter what. This time I drew a few "Samples" beforehand and picked from there. When I change styles I always draw one character and then just draw the other character match. This time Dave was the guinea pig.
First go around didn't turn out so hot. I was going for a more manga dark type of look.
He ended up looking Gay and Asian... and I don't want him to look Asian.
Second go around I went to some of my past styles of drawing Dave which is more of a comic/anime look. He ended up looking really lame, kinda beefy, too big/tall of a head. and creepy cartoony.
Third attempt I loved. Eyes a bit close together but for a sketch I'm cool with it. I also stole the black vest idea from the Hookie Dookie Panic guest comic from last week. I thought it looked pretty cool.
Now it was time to finalize the Dave character and get Travis to match. Which I straight up stole Endling's Travis eyes. Well little modifications but I'm still a total hack. Which is fine. I love those eyes for Travis it just fits WAY too well.
Almost done with the comic. But I'm falling asleep in my chair working on it so I'm calling it quits for the night... morning. I'm done with alll the drawing/inking/coloring/shading/highlighting. All I have left is aranging them into panels the way I want, backgrounds, and word bubbles. But like I said I'm passing out here. So yeah it WILL be up today sometime.
