I went to the Bronco's/Raven's game and it was a lot of fun. I really wanted to dress up for other teams there weren't playing for a reaction but I didn't. But it rained the ENTIRE game and it was freezing. and now I'm really really sick from it. I had a horrible time making this comic while being ill but I did it anyways. I already missed Tin this week because of it. I'll make a Tin this Thursday for sure though. I'm going back to bed. I hate being alive today.
K I know I missed updating Tin this week (again) But I do actually plan on updating it soon hopefully tomorrow sometime. But it's not that great so don't be too excited. Anyhoo I'm getting a lot of things done even though it doesn't seem like it. Well I should say I got a lot of things done in the mornings and played like crazy go nuts for two days straight. Which feels like work. I won't bore you with me working but I will tell you that A) a new comic is coming to Snafu. and B) I need to update certain sections of the site BADLY.
Anyhoo now for the non work related stuff I've been having a LOT of fun lately. Yesterday was My friend Shon's Bachelor party. Yeah spelled Shon, not Shawn, Sean, or any other normal way to do it. Anyhoo it was a LOT of fun. Afterwards I hung out with Layne, other Shawn and Brett until way too late at night before I had to make the drive back home to Salt Lake.
Today I worked on a few little things I need to get caught up from my trip to Denver. Got "most" of them done to. I didn't get to apply for my passport though. That was a bummer... I need a new Snafu banner at the top of the page I am just now realising... Sorry random. But I applied for the JET program which if I get in basically means I get to live in Japan for a year which would be super sweet. But I 'm quite sure I won't get picked.
But after all of my stupid bull crap of today I went and saw the new Borrat movie. Holy hell it was funny. I Love Ali G and Borrat so very very very much. After said movie I went and saw a band play titled Capture by Robots. and it's exactly what it sounds like. It's a human singer who is supposably captured by his robot band members and he's in chains the whole show and the robots play the instruments and what not. It's really quite amazing that he literally made robots to do all of this. A Great fun show to go to and he's touring right now. And now I sleep.
Back from Denver. I'm tired and I'll get to catching up on things first thing tomorrow. The quick review though is that Nan Desu Kan is the all time worst anime convention ever. Assuming you don't count the Salt Lake City Anime Banzai that's coming up later this month. If it weren't for how close I live to both of them I would never go to either. Infact I probably WON'T go to either next year. Seriously CRAP.
Even more tragic than me not getting the comics done on time is the fact that I missed the South Park season premiere of the World of Warcraft episode. Dammit all. For now all I have are my blessed two 20 second clips. *tear*
Yeah I tried really really really hard to get a Snafu and Tin done this week for when I will be gone at NDK. But no dice. I ran out of time due to a the cosmos having something against me. So angry at life right now I don't even want to talk about it. But oh well next week.
Anyhoo I'm going to be at NDK the Denver Colorado Anime convention from Friday to Monday night. Also Matt Herms will be at a con as well that you should go check out Sticky Floors comic and see and see him at the convention. He's actually much better at convention things than I am so definately stop by and say hi to him if you can.
Then what else oh yeah I'm dying my hair Blue and Orange for the Denver Bronco's game that I'm going to this Monday. I can assure everyone on earth I do not care about football AT ALL and I've never watched a NFL football game in my life. Which is why me going to the game dressed up like a mega fan is humorous to me.
k so I was reading through my copy of the Bizarre Uprising book and I read the "20 questions" to the author section in the back and one of the questions was what comics do they read and enjoy. And Snafu was one of them on the list. For some reason seeing that someone enjoys the comic in a publised book felt like a pat on the back with sparkles.
K I can not believe how long I spent trying to free hand photoshop paint that background of this comic. I completely zoned out for oh 4 hours on it making it look as close to how my old high school football field looks as my memory would allow... minus no trees around the school... or windows. But I thought about it and it was NOT worth it to begin that mess after how long it took me just to get that much on the screen. And yeah I know I suck balls at the photoshop painterly look but I'm practicing because I want to get better. Which I HAVE gotten better at it substantially. The characters painterly look is getting a lot better for example than even say two comics ago. That's a plus. But enough about me trying to improve the art of ze comic here is a video from You Tube that for some reason I find endlessly entertaining.
