k so I was reading through my copy of the Bizarre Uprising book and I read the "20 questions" to the author section in the back and one of the questions was what comics do they read and enjoy. And Snafu was one of them on the list. For some reason seeing that someone enjoys the comic in a publised book felt like a pat on the back with sparkles.
K I can not believe how long I spent trying to free hand photoshop paint that background of this comic. I completely zoned out for oh 4 hours on it making it look as close to how my old high school football field looks as my memory would allow... minus no trees around the school... or windows. But I thought about it and it was NOT worth it to begin that mess after how long it took me just to get that much on the screen. And yeah I know I suck balls at the photoshop painterly look but I'm practicing because I want to get better. Which I HAVE gotten better at it substantially. The characters painterly look is getting a lot better for example than even say two comics ago. That's a plus. But enough about me trying to improve the art of ze comic here is a video from You Tube that for some reason I find endlessly entertaining.
The movie rocks SOCKS and then some. It's the ultimate guy film. There were parts that I was [ ] this close to vomiting in and that's amazing. Anyhow about the comic itself I'm fully aware it's NOT particularly funny. I had a semi decent idea for a comic and then I realised I was totaly ripping VG Cats off so I just scrapped that and went with this instead. And I can assure you all you have no idea how long this comic took me to do. I know it's only one frame but I was practicing a whole new way of coloring... that I've been practicing a for a few comics now actually. But I finally started to "get" it a little bit this time. Unfortunately NOT on the characters I started to figure out how to smoothly digitally "paint" on the background after I already did my thing with the charcter's coloring/shading. So I have high hopes for next time I try to color. I'll have to think of a one frame comic so I can really just practice on the painty feeling a LOT. Endling even told me of some fairly good tutorials I need to go over but I get ever so lazy.
Oh and that new show Heroes comes on tonight 8/9c. It looks sweet sauce if you ask me. I can't wait.
Last thing I didn't update Tin last week because I've been working for a weird "rush" of clients for website work lately. I'm still working on that stuff actually and will be busy for at least a week or so more. I'll try and get a Tin up of course but that's why I've been pecularly absent as of late. I do so love web design especially since it keeps me alive. Speaking of web design Scott of VG Cats fame has a nice new look that is bonerific to say the least.
