Snooping around the web I've been utterly annoyed at the widespread blatant homophobia and ignorance towards this movie and gay people in general. Don't get me wrong nearly everyone who's ACTUALLY SEEN the movie thinks it's a great movie and likes it. But there are far far FAR more people who hate this movie without seeing it and are totally convinced only monsters and pedophiles would ever consider watching it. Although I must admit I just barely saw the trailor for the first time five minutes ago and if that's what I was going off of I wouldn't want to see it either.

So am I mad that people are watching a SHITTY movie like King Kong but ignoring a fantastic film like Brokeback Mountain? Yes, yes I am. I'm even more mad that movie theater owners across America as a whole won't even allow people to watch Brokeback Mountain. It's no secret that I live in Salt Lake City, Utah. Which is Mormon capital USA and the Larry H. Miller, the owner of the Utah Jazz and also the owner of nearly EVERY theater in Utah, pulled Brokeback Mountain from all of his theaters due to moral issues. Larry H. Miller is a douche. Don't get me wrong they are his theaters and he can play movies 24/7 about jerking off to Mel Gibson movies if he wants and that is his right. But that doesn't change his status as a douche.

Brokeback Mountain will definately win awards and it will definately become a cult classic much like Donnie Darko or Pulp Fiction (by the way I hate Pulp Fiction but that's another rant entirely.) I believe DVD sales are where it will most likely make it's money. It's not like the movie is ever doing bad actually. It's making more per theater than any other film out there, including King Kong, Narnia, Hostile, Fun with Dick and Jane or any other movie. What makes that even more amazing is that this is Hostiles opening night and Brokeback Mountain has been out for a month and is still out doing it per theater. It's theater numbers are also expanding. Opening with a mere 69 theaters accross America it's now up to 484 theaters showing the movie. Which is no match for say Shark Tales opening in 4000+ theaters across America.

My favorite quote about the movie I've found thus far, "It’s about 130 minutes long and 129 of them are about Men Not Having Sex."

John went back to St. George today which sucked. Stupid JOBS taking my friends away when it's clearly christmas break.

Tuesday 27th

Played a tiny bit of Phenix Wright: Ace Atorney 4th chapter. Which was neat because it was all happening in nearly real time for me by mere coincidence since the chapter started on Christmas Eve and went a few days past.

Then I got a message from Emra informing me that she wanted to hang out. Which I had to tell her I was in Delta. Which got me the surprise response of "I'm coming down then." Whoa AWESOME. Soooo Emra came down and I had a total blast all day long, like always.

I played Volleyball with Jaxon, Ryan, Nikki, Kolby, Tom, Amanda, and Emra. We switched teams up twice and went best two out of three both times playing a total of 5 games plus like 30 minutes of warm ups since some people showed up late. Anyhow Jaxon and I went undefeated the whole time. It was awesome. But not without a price. my arms turned to hamburger. My middle finger's last joint on the left hand got hit wrong and swelled up huge. And turned purple. It hurt and wouldn't bent very well for about two days. Then my thumb knuckle on the right had was nearly as badly mangled. My arm both bruised big time as did my knees. Volleyball HURTS.

Wednesday 28th

Today I hung out with Emra in the morning a bit before she had to leave. Afterwards I was honestly slightly bummed she wasn't around anymore. Emra was bummed that John wasn't around when she came down (he had to work) and overall the day was a bummer. So I played Phenix Wright. There we go, all better.

I ended the day going camping with Byrd and Levon in Byrd's cabin. It was a ton of fun and that's why Tin didn't get updated because I was in the middle of the deseret in a well hidden cabin eating dutch oven cooking and bitching about random things all night.

Thursday 29th

Came home from camping to get a call from Pierson and Chern. We all went to Pierson's house and talked to him and Tasha for nearly an hour before they had to leave. That was so much fun. Then I went home and waited for a call about Nikki's birthday. The location changed from my house to Chern's house because Erica sucks. Yeah Chern I said it, your wife sucks. Due to reasons not really in control of anyone I ended up skipping Nikki's birthday party entirely and hung out with Cliff King, Josie, and Kolby all night instead. I had a really really fun time. We played Typing of the Dead for the Dreamcast which by the way is one of the greatest games ever. Afterwards really really sucked though because Kolby was leaving the next morning. It was basically the good-bye good-bye since the chances of us seeing each other again are really slim to none. I hate those. Oh well I'm over it (lies)... (now I am).

Friday 30th

Today I played a lot of Phenix Wright: Ace Atorney, I'm on the 5th chapter and it's just crazy plot twists awesome everywhere I love it. This is also by far the hardest chapter and the only one that I don't just immediately know exactly how it all went down by common sense predicting exactly how it went down. But not nearly as good as Chapter 4, YET. I have faith it will rock. I'm certainly quite addicted though and it's scary becaue the first 1-3 chapters of the game I thought it was a fun distractiong but not all that great, ever since chapter 4 it has got my by the throat and won't let go.

Then I played some board games with my family for awhile. My family is amazingly competitive so it's a very volitle situation every year. Far more than it should be. I ended up leaving the whole thing though to go Cosmic Bowling with a ton of my friends. GOOD decision on my part. The Bowling was awesome, I got not one but TWO Turkeys (three strikes in a row just incase your not white trash enough to know bowling lingo.) in one game. My total was 186 and I STILL lost to Byrd's amazing 202. We even got pictures of our scores on our cell phones because we're nerds like that. Not bad since my only goal in bowling EVER is to not double gutter and try to break a 100 each time. It was a lucky streak I asure you. I also got to hang out with a ton of my old high school friends I haven't seen in a long time. Byrd, Nikki, Layne, Brent, Brady, Cody, Bobby, Tom, Erin, Britney, Levon, Drew, and Blake were all there. Crazy fun.

After the bowling we went to Nikki's house and watched 40 Year Old Virgin: Unedited Edition. I'd like to start by saying I found 40 Year Old Virgin to be sup par when I watched it in theaters and I had ZERO intentions of watching it again. But some how I found myself watching it again and thanks to the unedited edition promise of... well being unedited. I'm ashamed. But not really I just know if I was capable of shame that would be the proper emotion to put in there ;)

Then I came home to discover world war 3 broke out at the game night at my house. Not nessicarily during the game night but after. My leaving left my team brutally underpowered in intelligent game players. And the then over powered other team didn't break up their key players at all and dominated... for 5 hours straight. LAME. Glad I wasn't one left there getting tronkle stomped that's for sure because I would have hated to have had to tell the better part of my family to go fuck themselves. So in retrospect watching 40 Year Old Virgin again wasn't so bad after all.
